Title: Lmao, Pulled Over.
Post by: Granulated on November 23, 2006, 10:30:00 PM
If you're going to bitch about this being too long, start reading here.

I punch it from a roll in first and chirp the tires.  I hit the juice and the tach shoots up.  Hard shift to second, and I'm at the rev limiter in a second again, smoke is starting to roll off the tires.  Shift to third, start to get traction, and I let off.

Right as I let off, this cop pulls out from ahead and to my left, out of a dark alley between two buildings.  I immediately start laughing and pull over.   He pulls over behind me.

Goodevening, officer so and so, Appleton police department.  Do you have your license on you this evening?

Yes, sir...*hands license*  That wasn't very smart of me, eh?

Not especially.  Have you been drinking tonight?

No, sir.

Nothing?

Nope.

He asked where I was headed, and I shoulda told him I was testing something out, but I didn't want him to get too suspicious on how a stock looking Saturn just roasted it's tires through third, so I just said "Out for a drive"

The good news:  I actually didn't get a ticket?  and I was laughing the whole time cause I found the whole mess hilarious for some reason.

The bad news:  I got a municiple summons, which is a court date, and a fine, but no points on my license.  I violated ordinance number 12-81, squealing tires.  Hahaahhaaha.

After he came back with my license, he told me to drive safe and take it easy!  haha.

I wonder if he woulda found the bottle if he searched...it's hidden between the rear seat and a sub box...glad I didn't have to find out.

Man you got off easy. A few years ago I helped a friend build a “Street Jeep”. This went totally agents what Jeep stands for, but never the less I helped. We took an everyday stock off the lot Jeep Wrangler with the 4.0L I6 and ripped the whole drivetrain out.

Had a Dodge 360 (5.9L) that was stroked out to a 408 with a centrifugal supercharger bolted on top sitting in the corner. After we had the drive train out, the engine and tranny went in, brand new super Dana44 front and rear axels with ARB lockers went in. A few days of hooking up wires and hoses the beast was about to some to life. Turned it over a few times and it finally roared to life. Put the tires and exhaust on and we took it out for its first road test.

We went out to old Route 66 behind the local mall. Not a car insight. Locked the rear lockers, grabbed first and slammed on the gas, the rear tires started to smoke, let off the gas a little, grabbed second gear and it was still smoking the tires. Let the RMPs come done a little and drove off. Drove a few miles and decided to see what it could do with the fronts locked also.

Had the Jeep nice and straight, no cars in sight, reved it up, dropped the clutch and all four tires started to spin. Sifted to second, and they still were spinning, than out of NO WHERE the highway patrol shows up.  Needless to say we were so busted. My buddy Mark got a ticket for:

A ) Street racing
B ) Braking traction
C ) Speed beyond resalable and prudent
D ) Volition of the city noise law

About $500 in fines later… He still has the Jeep but doesn’t drive it that much. All though, hes got nothing on this Wrangler though. Ya! That’s a 8.0L Viper V10 your looking at.

Is that your jeep or just a jeep that you saw somewhere?

That is badass though.

No, but I sure wish that was my Jeep. That Jeep was built by a company called Burnsville Off Road, in Burnsville, MN. They do a lot of hardcore engine swaps in Jeeps. Last time I checked up on them they were swapping a 6.1L HEMI (SRT-8 engine) into the new JK model Wrangler. Heres another shot of another Wrangler they stuffed a 8.3L Viper V10 (SRT-10 engine) into another TJ.
