I want the Vette and the Chevelle!
Here's my latest, a fully loaded C63 Coupe. I was able to pick her up via Euopean Delivery. She was broken in on the autobahn.
As she rolled out at the MB factory in Sindelfingen, Germany.
In front of the Marriott, Sindelfingen.
Below the castle ruins of Hohengeroldseck.
Next to my G. Stopped at a liquor store right after picking her up at the dealer.
She is a bit of a lush.

Post pics of your cars.
Here are all of mine...
94 Summit DL Before the swap.
1983 AMC Eagle SX/4 Every option available, stock Radio still worked, 4 wheel drive. This car was a beast, it would go anywhere. It had a lift kit on it, bigger rims and tires, complete beast.... till I blew the engine and sold it for about 5 times what I paid for it .
Everything on this car was in mint condition except for one tiny rust spot on the left quarter panel.
My 89 Civic Hatch. 1.6l 4 cylinder power riced to the max. I bought it as is for 3 grand, completely rebuilt engine and fresh from the garage paint job, had I/H/E and nitrous but was only hooked up to purge, sold it for 5k.
Wasnt a bad looking car, but was too low for me.
98 Chrysler LHS BOAT MOBILE. This car is HUGE. Barely fits in the garage. Its V6 powered and VEry quick for what it is. Ive beaten slightly modded 240's, mustang's (V6's not V8's) and all kinds of civics with this thing.
Next up is my current Daily driver. 96 Pontiac Sunfire. The mirrors are not carbon fiber, neither are the handles, someone was really good with carbon fiber tape tho. The sticker on the bottom left of the trunk reads "Clash of the titans 145+ DB Bracket " Paid 1700 for it as it is, nice littler car, pretty quick for what it is, hopefully soon I can find a set of stock rims and I can trade someone trunks because that wing is fugly along with the tails. Cant complain tho, it was a very good deal for the car
I also currently have a mitsubishi mirage, its red but I dont have any pics of it, its completely stock just bought it 2 days ago, dont even have it road ready yet. Soon to be buying a truck of some kind, havent decided on what make or model, I do have to lean towards a ford F150 or a dodge ram or Chevy silverado, I just want a big truck for off roading fun because the amc is no longer with me

That's my 1970 Corvette Stingray. Picture is not all that great, but only one I have on this computer. It looks red, but it's Corvette Bronze, a rare color that under the sun is absolutely primo. Everyone says that they love the color. I bought it 4 years ago. Spent 4 months finding one, then the first day I drove it got rear-ended at a red light by some guy messed up on prescription drugs. He didn't even slow down so it was a solid 35mph. Since it's a summer car, it wasn't for another year that I got it out of the shop and able to drive it. It was blach-cherry when I bought it, but since the accident pretty much made a new paint job necessary I decided to go with the original color; makes it worth a little more. When I saw it painted up at first I regretted my decision because it looked like a cross between bright orange construction paper and a penny, but once it was sanded down and clear-coated, I was in heaven. It's the second most beautiful thing in the world, the first being the female body of course.
You know how some people have bumper stickers on their cars that say, "My other car is a corvette." Well, I'm thinking about getting a bumper sticker on my corvette that says, "My other car is a 91' Lumina."

Here are the urls for the remaining pics:
Here is a shot of what is under the hood. Pretty clean for an '88. The guy who sold it to me threw in the filtercharger for free so I just put it on so I wouldn't have to be dealing with shitty paper air filters. I also had some problems with my soundsystem frying my alternators, so I had my mechanic custom fit a chevy truck alternator onto the car. Also have a gel pack battery which goes well with the soundsystem.
Not the flashiest car or the greatest soundsystem but it will do until I get my Z-28 within the next month or two.

Is it pretty quick compared to its turbo brother? Well compared to other cars actually. I was actually looking at buying one for a thousand dolalrs it just didnt run. Had 13k original miles, 1986 RX7, perfect interior and exterior no paint fade or anything, no scrapes or nothing. The owner died and it was left in his garage for years and finally his son sold it to a dealership becuase it dint run but the problem was bad fuel. I could smell it when he tried to start it. Possibly the fuel pump and def the fuel filter needed cleaned, the whole system flushed, but Im confident it would have been a great car with a little bit of work.

Post by: jesterrace777 on September 20, 2005, 04:29:00 PM
Hard to rate the power on these suckers. It definitely isn't the turbo II model, and it is a FAR CRY from the twin-turbo powered beast that the 3rd gen is. The non-turbo is gutless in the low RPM range but becomes very hard to compete with in the high RPM range. RX-7s can be made into amazing performance machines but they will also be the biggest gas guzzlers on the planet. IMHO if the car is dead (no engine) I would go for the 350 V-8 conversion. Rotary engines are such high maintenence (and are even more so once you turbo them) that you would be better off with ditching it. You would get a couple of miles better gas mileage, more HP and still have decent handling. The fuel smell is usually due to failing seals around the fuel line and they are downright dangerous, as it's very easy for the engine to catch fire. RX-7s have VERY HIGH PRESSURE fuel systems. Mine was doing the same thing (bad smell) when I took it in and got it fixed.

I wouldnt build a rotary, I would do a V8 setup. Ive heard that if you dont run them into the ground, 3 rotor engine's will last a long time with little maintnance, but that might have been just fanboyism bs the the people on the forum were feeding me. I think they are sexy cars. but if I was going to get one and plan on doing a swap anyway why not get a dodge daytona? My step dad had one and it was pretty quick I guess, last time I rode in it before he sold it I was 13 and I didnt really care about cars then. Are they 6 cyl or 8 cyl engines?

Honda CBR 600 with 20 mm restrictor (rules require this). It rides that low to the ground because we designed it that way. The idea is to get the CG as low as possible. A tilt-test confirmed that the CG with driver was just over 8 inches. It only weighed 438 lbs, down from 483 last year.

Here is my first car. 1994 Saturn SC2. Say what you want, but it was hella quick for what was under the hood. I would compare the ride to that of a miata...car is very light and corners quite flat.
Here's my current car. 2000 Saturn SC1. It's underpowered for now, but I got an engine swap to the DOHC in the works.
I don't care what you think about Saturns, and I don't wanna hear it. I take alot of shit for driving a Saturn, from people who have no idea what they are talking about. All I know is I love this car and I'm proud of it until I can afford my 5 series BMW. I know the difference between customizing a 4 cylinder car and ricing it out, and I am all about clean installs... That having been said, enjoy
Yeah, the steelies are nasty, but so are the hubcaps. I had 16" gunmetal rims picked out, but then my rim money ended up getting spent on a new transmission
The super sexy clean backend with my bumper decal and redded out tails:

heres my dads 92' mustang (since im not old enough to drive yet) heres a general pic, but that was a while ago and it looks a lot better currently (too bad he doesnt have any recent pics tho) heres a pic of the engine which should top out anywhere between 800-900 hp (too bad the pic is also a month or so old)

Very nice Mustang, I'm not a huge fan of that body style or Mustangs in general but it looks pretty good and it certainly has the engine to go with it. Post some recent pics if you can get em.

I know it's not turbo and it has a lame ass neon engine but it gets me from point A to B and back. I have a CAI, Stainless Header, Hiflo cat ie. resonator ie. not a cat. And tsudo exhaust... so 100%stainless all the way back. I have a OBX UDP, screamin demon coil pack, nology wires and denso irdium plugs. With all that I have a whole whopping.... wait for it..... 130 horse to the ground Sucks when you start with 100 to the ground(they try to sell this crank horse shit, but don't belive the numbers)Anyways I love it, sounds good, and no I don't race it, I am not delusional I CANNOT take a mustang/honda/z28/geo metro. It does handle corners like it's on rails.
Next mods: Star stage II turbo kit w/ FMIC Howell bottom end rebuild Crane turbo cams/cam gears Neon r/t tranny(better gear ratio) I'll be happy then

Not bad, nice and clean. Whatever you do, dont put any body kit on that thing. Most people mess up eclipses with body kits... there isnt really any body kit that I like on clipses, they look beautiful stock! If its not lowered, then lower it, if it is lowered, lower it some more, there is still wheel gap there! You really shouldnt go turbo with that car, unless of coarse you just want to but its really just a waste of money. You could buy a turbo fwd car with a much better motor for about the same price you could to turbo your current car and get it tuned ect.
Im currently looking for a n/a 2nd gen eclispe or talon for a daily driver so I can get rid of my sunfire, sell my mirage and buy a newer 5g mirage sedan (evo kits dont look good on coups, plus the sedan headlights are awesome, and insurance is cheaper on a 4 door saloon) then I can work on doing body mods and suspension mods till I can get an Evo 6 front clip, convert it to rhd, drop the 4g63t in, and go awd once again (last mirage I did this to was a 4g coup that was almost complete, it was litterally 90% done, just needed the driveshaft mounted up because I took it off after a problem with the transfer case but it was done now, and a drunk driver totalled it and I dont want another 4g so the awd parts are useless because I need a real evo engine because of the intake mani faces the oposite way on the engine I have now and wont work).

My Jeep and the Wifes Jeep. You can probably figure out which is which. One is lifted 6" with 35" tires, one is about 2" with 30" tires. Both will fit bigger tires as they sit now... and both will probably get them eventually.
What I DD so I can break the Jeep whenever I want.

A cherokee is a pretty decent rig to start a build up with. Already has the solid axle, has a pretty stout drivetrain and flexes very well stock. The only two complaints I have really is the unibody setup, it requires some investment to get proper tow hooks setup (usually either a front and rear hitch or tow hooks with brackets up front and a hitch in back, either way ~$200.) The other one would be the small wheel wells.. but a hacksaw and a hammer fixes that.

Here is my 94 civic, no i don't think it's fast, but i'm hoping to make it a little fast. And don't worry i wont be adding a body kit, or underbody neons, or any of that stupid shit people do to Civic's, all i'm doing is cold air intake, new headers, new mainifold, new catilac converter, and new exhaust system, oh i might lower it a little bit more, but probably not, and i'm retiniting the windows, it;s a car i bought with insurence money, so it's pretty nice, and step up from my other car.
And heres my first car. Got hit going through the internection, dude failed to yeild the right away, and admited it to the cops...idiot?
Yeah my cars are nothing special, but i'm sixteen with no job, and i just got back surgery....And my parents arn't rich in anyway, buy everything myself. (not sayin non of you dude, just trying to avoid being made fun of for owning a civic)

xboxexpert: Nice car, my freind has the same body style, I like them to (but prefer the Camaro body style). Anyways, I notice you have the license plate in your front window, does your state require you to have a plate on the front and the back? And if so have you caught any shit from the cops about not having it on your bumper? I ask because I just moved to Colorado and the state wants me to put 2 holes in the bumper of my Impala and I just dont want to do that (its to damned sexy). Ive asked the DMV about something like putting it in the window, they didnt say yes, but they didnt say no either...
If anyones curious, I just have the plates from Florida still on there, I'll keep them as long as possible.

im paying £1100 for full comp insurance atm, they charge me £200 just for the 17" ripspeed alloys what a rip lol. but o well least i get them replaced if they are stolen yea im adding engine parts to the thing end of the year so i can increase the power of it. i have a turbo sitting beside me atm but no time to add it. last year at college so will have a job to afford insurance WOOT!
parts i have atm to fit:
- New turbo - 2 x 1000 Watt amps - 1 x 1000 watt sub
Im thinking to add to it:
- Active ride (i hate the standards of the roads around here, i need comfort ) - new cooling system - new inteirer ( Lime green or blue hmm.... )
i never see the point in body kits looks tacky, i like to have a stock-looking car but have performance under the skin, the car atm pulls 0-60 in 10-11 seconds the turbo is going to help that. i just like to see peoples faces when i smoke them at traffic lights and stuff for a giggle becuase all they see is standard car
i just have to wait 6 months to fit these parts insurance going to drop about £600, i did pass+ course and all the little extras you can do to decrease insurance and 2 years non-claims

(The TVs were installed horribly, but honestly, I could care less, lol) Juss bought it about a month ago. One of these days I'll put my amp and sub into it, but I've been reading up about it and it seems to be a lil more complicated than my last car (or any car for that matter). If anyone wants specs PM me or just ask in this thread.
And my 84' mustang which I just got last sunday. Dad payed for it but I get to pay to fix it up (needs a few misc engine parts replaced, paint job, clen-up/tune-up, etc.). I also get to pay for gas and possibly somewhat of the insurance so Im not one of those 16 year olds who gets his/her car and gets it payed for him/her .
Ill have some more pics when we trailer it home this sunday (yes, it starts/drives it just wont drive that far yet. has a coolant leak somewhere)

Two...at the same time? Just one is too hot to handle!
But as an 'update', I have some time and extra money to blow, so I'm painting the Citation in a taxi cab theme, complete with the black and white checkered pattern. Of course, I won't start a taxi business, but I think I'll find the look humorous.

@granulated. You drive that sucker around with a suicide door? You are nuts. As for the DOHC, I figured yours would already have it. Despite the trouble with my SL2, thankfully it does have the DOHC engine in it so I don't get run over by Semis when getting on the freeway.

lol, everyone's jealous of the 3rd door...
I figured when I bought the car that the SOHC engine would suffice...just need something slow to keep me out of trouble, and reliable, to get me through college...

About £1050 but no non-cliams and first year so it will drop in 2 months to about £800 - £900

2900 It's a 97 YZF (In case you cant read the side) It has a few minor scrapes, but or the most part is in good shape. Mechnically its near perfect minus needing front brake pads, and maybe a new front tire before too long.

Honestly I wanted a GSXR. But I have been shopping for 2 months. And while Im sure Id find one eventually I no longer can justify wasting my Sundays driving 3 hours to look at bikes that are misadvertised. (See the last post in my bike thread to understand). While Im sure I could have found a slightly better deal, at what cost in gas or time wise? I spent over 100 bucks last Sunday between gas in my truck and road food/drinks. All to look at a 97 GSXR that turned out to be a 95 Katana. So while I might be able to find something a bit better for my money, how much would I waste in doing so. The YZF was actually the 3rd option on my list. But it's an OK deal and mechnically sounds. And Im sure itll be plenty fun

How old are you for that priced insurance?
Nice looking car, you need to lower it though, get those wheels well in the arches on the back end and the front can be dropped a nice ammount too, then you'll notice some difference on handling. Ive always liked the Astra MK 4 in white, the one i have is red but it looks great when cleaned with the black trim.
My brother has a corsa with some 17" limited edition chromed momo WRS wheels, they are real nice, hes dropped it about 60mm on the back and i forget what its down to on the front now because its adjustable, the arches needed modding though cause the wheels were scrapping pretty bad with only 2 people sat in!
We have a Astra 51 reg SRI also, now thats pretty fast, but its done a fair few miles now, hoping to sell this soon and get a Civic Type R

Stock 1996 Chevy Impala SS w/ a 350 Small Block LT1 (Covettes predescesor). It wouldnt be real stock if I didnt keep having problems w/ it... Planned upgrades currently in-clude: Slight Lowering Ported and polshed TB and heads Beefed up MAF from a late model F-Body (to match the TB) GM Performance Parts LT4 Hot Cam New gears (jsut some slight ones, to help with acceleration, as the cam is set up for more top end power) New exhaust, or at least some headers to get some better flow to match the port and polishing
And just a few more upgrades for little things to help with handling, steering, braking, etc etc
My trucks still in Florida, so I cant grab any pics of it. Oh well, no one wants to see that POS anyways =P

I've finally decided to get a newer car (a 1994 Mitsubishi Montero), but lately I've been having a lot of free time, so I'm finishing repainting my 1981 Chevy Citation. Since I don't think it's worth any better, I'm only using normal spray paint, and not trying my hardest on body rust.
Here are some progress photos:
I had already painted the hood yellow, but a big branch fell on it, so I'm re-doing it again.
I might put a couple of racing stripes down its middle for added fun.

if it has the pentastar on it then in my book its a mopar. But as far as frontwheel drive goes yea maybe there not the best at drag but try going around a street course with a rearwheel drive car. it not as easy as front wheel drive. but i went to the mopar nationals in columbus and there were srt4s running 10s and 11s the quickest front wheel drive trubo car i sceen there was a shelby charger that went 9.52 i forget the mph but it beat alot of hemi cudas there. but the crazyest thing i saw there was a challenger t/a go for 150,000 so if anyone out there has one keep it because there only going up.

No kidding. That has got to be some of the dumbest logic that I have heard. I'm sure that the classic muscle car enthusiasts with hemis, 440s, ect. would just be thrilled to death that anyone can slap a MOPAR symbol on their vehicle and call it a MOPAR. The fact of the matter is topgun1, that if all of the innards of a vehicle are clearly produced by Mitsubishi then it's a Mitsubishi. Sticking a MOPAR sticker on the hood or elsewhere doesn't change a damn thing.

Sad but true. GM has some really nifty cars (ie GTO, Z-28, Firebird) but I wouldn't trust any of them as a daily driver. It is luck of the draw though as some people have had nothing but solid luck with the aforementioned vehicles.

Yup, that is exactly my point. Some run forever and others need to be rebuilt every 100K miles or less. Although provided you take good care of those 4th gen Z-28s they are supposed to be very dependable vehicles. If I wasn't so concerned about fuel efficiency and I could find one with low miles and detailed maintenance records I would be all over one.

you should physically bolt your wheel to that instead of using the table clamp. with the clamp it tends to slide around a little.

From best i can see in them pics she looks in decent shape mate, ive always quite liked the nissan sunny, i think its got alot of potential.
Does it seriously do 0-60 in 8 seconds? i didn't think it would have been so fast, obviously nothing amazing, but still thats got to at least be somewhat fun to drive, would smoke alot of cars here in the UK in a little burn as most the lads around don't have anything over a 1.1
Tell you what you need lad, find a wrote off GTI-R and take the engine out of that and put it in your sunny, also the GTI-R bonnet and rest of body work would be a nice addition to your car, and i'm sure you'd be loving the new found speed!
Ive always loved the GTI-R

mechanically shes fine, especially since shes done 160k, few rust patches here and there and the sills need welding for her MOT tomorrow but she aint bad.
she did do it in 8 back when i got her 3 years ago, but that was 40k odd miles ago, so it's probably approaching 9 or 10 by now, i havn't checked because i don't drive like a plonker much these days, but yeah it is pretty nippy, will happily keep up with a saxo VTR or similar. For a standard car it's not bad, i havn't so much as put an induction kit on it.
pulsar GTI-R is the dream, but putting that engine in a FWD just wouldnt do it justice, plus for that price could probably pick up a pulsar but yeah someday when i'm not a poor student i'll get myself a nice pulsar.
what id acctually like to do for a laugh is get a gti-r and put standard sunny bodywork on it, put an air intake on the bumper or something, hidden away and then have some fun with bampots in 1.1's

If youve took good care of her mate she should still be doing round 8 seconds, maybe not quiet, but plenty of oil changes and if shes had alot of good long runs, and some killing on the way then i'm sure the engine should still be in somewhat decent shape.
I don't think i could live without doing any modifications, at least you got some alloys. I'm supprised youve not gone pretty hardcore with it.
Yeah true enough about the gti-r engine, but still FWD from an engine producing so much power would be a real fun car to drive, and when on the roll would still be pretty damn fast, plus it'd rip up all the way, probably still be ripping up with the foot flat down in 4th lol.
I bet with that engine, with some nice wide wheels and tyres, and the car on coils it would be a hell of a fast car, and would probably handle real nice too.
Got to admit though, i'd love a gti-r myself, would make a hell of a car, and yeah using as close to as possible standard body work, use a frontmount intercooler instead of the one that basically sits ontop of the engine, hide it behind some grills, it would put a real shock on most faces, it would be a hell of a sleeper. Just have a decent set of wheels and decent exhaust and loads of people would go for the burn, but then you'd smoke em time and time again, haha it always makes me laugh with the people in the BMW's and mercs and the like, many of them think they are fast, and £ to performance on ALL those cars are crap, i'd always go either skyline, evo or the likes, or of course a small but high spec performance car, weve had so many in BMW's give it their best and they don't even come close, even the 3.0l engines are very dissapointing in my opinion. My brother is currently sorting his corsa B to do a complete 2.0l turbo conversion, its going to be smoking the majority of the cars on the UK roads when done, there won't be so many turbo hot hatches coming past, still though hes still currently band, his year ban isn't up till next year after his previous driving offences
I hope you get a GTI-R someday anyway mate, i bet you'd have a load of fun driving one of those, i'd like one myself, but i think for me abit newer car is on the cards in the future, still going to be doing some nice big powerfull engine conversion to whatever i do get though

well i don't really see the point of spending a whack of cash or an old beaten up 1.4. i mean i'm not the type of guy that would buy a rear can and a set of springs, it would have to be a full system and some coilovers, you know? and i can't justify spending that much cash on something that is nothing more than a runaround.
Plus it aint like you can just buy off the shelf parts for a nissan sunny, everything is gti-r so i would need donar parts from one to even upgrade things. The alloys i got were fairly cheap (£200) and were intentionally bought with the dual fitments (8 holes) so i can swap them between any other runarounds i get while i'm still studying.
Just have more important stuff to spend my cash on right now, like xbox Myself i feel a car project is something i'd like to do with my son (if my girl blesses me with one when the time comes a few years down the line), or when i'm a bit older, i mean my dad is a mechanic but he isnt into fast cars or anything which is a bit dissapointing
the only other thing i was willing to do was get a little SR/GTI spoiler on it (not GTI-R) but whenever i see then for sale they are always asking some silly money for it or i'm skint at the time.
the thing i feel with beemers etc is that you need the v8 (or bigger) to get anywhere, i mean the 320s etc are dissapointing at best, however my mates dad has a 740 v8, and my god it's fast. before that he had a fiat coupe turbo he kindly gave me a shot of and told me to "put the boot in it" when the turbo in one of them kicks in its unbeleivable, the g's near gave me whiplash, they are so understated and they would easily blow a scoob or evo away, on the straights anyway
good luck to your brother and his corsa, even though i hate corsas with a passion, just because of the bampots around here. I assume it's a redtop of some sort? calibra 4x4 engine? That will be a fast little corsa.
as long as one day i have myself a GTI-R or a R5 GTT i'll be happy, even just for a track day car. I think when i finish my studies and get a job a 2002 integra type-R is on the cards for me, i LOVE them.

guess what. found some people and picked up GTI-R front and back bumpers, sideskirts and a GTI (not R) spoiler, i refuse to put the bonnet on a 1400, but i got the whole lot for 90 quid.
Also dropped her 35mm yesterday on GTI shocks and spax springs, i got all 4 shocks with the springs for 50 quid all in, bargain eh? tho with a 13 year old chassis the flex is hideous, time to find me a cheap set of braces.

You will be surprised how good the handling is on F-bodys....The Mustang... im not so sure.
I've driven plenty of f-bodys.... 70s through 00s, modified and unmodified, I've never been very impressed with the handling characteristics.
as far as American cars go they're some of the best, but they're still lumbering land yachts in the slalom when pitted against nearly anything from the rest of the world.

My fiancee drives an 04 hatch with the Ztech motor and loves it. I wasn't a big fan of the years after that where they tried to imitate the Jetta but the new style like what you posted looks nice. I've got a buddy with an RS of the same year and that thing hauls...
For an econo-box they're great cars
When buying cars like this
1. Always get the biggest motor you can 2. always get it in a stick

sorry to bring this up but its written as Zetec not Ztech (not trying to be a dick but it probably does seem like it though)
and yeah the rs does shift especially if you get an SS tubular manifold on it and get it chipped. although the ST is a much more powerful one especially if you get the ms300 kit on it (300 BHP) but i just dont trust 300 ponies being pushed through the same wheels that are doing the steering as well.
still i say the best one was the Fiesta RSTurbo. only a 1.6 and only had a small turbo but it was enough in a 900 kilo car. that and you could get the turbo from the escort and then it goes like stink. the scariest thing in the world is being in a fiesta (One of these) at 170 mph.
I hereby apologise for geeking out all over the forum.

you're right I said it wrong... unfortunately here in the states we don't get the ST or the Fiesta and I misspoke about the RS it's the SVT we don't get the RS here either... the SVT is just like it but without the AWD

from what i heard ford has made leaps and bounds in that department. They came out with that fancy motorola/microsoft bluetooth everything system. Even there regular systems are much better then previous years. I agree being a non standard size hurts upgrade ease, but I personally think it looks better

wow I haven't been on here in forever. anyways, I finally got a car. my first choice was the Civic Si, but according to my parent's it's 'too fast', etc. etc. you all know how it is. anyway so I got a 5 speed LX. it's not a bad car, handles nicely, revs somewhat high , and good on gas. here are some pics:
don't know how I missed this post earlier...
that's a nice looking car (for a honda )
as for the civic being "too fast" you should tell your parents to try stand up comedy because that's some funny sh*t right there.
and no I don't "know how it is" when I was 15 I learned to drive stick on my fathers 600+whp Supra and I would often get Christmas and birthday gifts such as performance exhausts, swaybars, or go-fast parts. ... or maybe my family was just different. at this point I own my own place and 3 cars so it's not like my parents have had a say in what I buy or do for some time now.

I noticed it too.. Honestly I hate that sh*t with a passion. No joke, that's a deal breaker for me when buying a car. If it's something I really like otherwise I might investigate what the 3rd party masking/intergration options are like but yeah... if they can't be bothered to stick to the industry standard "DIN" with a stereo that doesn't "share" with the ecu and other parts of the car then I can't can't be bothered to purchase their car.
more often then not not conforming to the most basic of standards is a good indicator of a lack of standardization elsewhere in the car as well.

leaning to drive a stick on a sports car was pretty easy actually... The hardest parts was leaning not to give it TOO much gas, but the clutch work was a breeze. The Supra had enough torque that from a dead stop if you let off the clutch in first gear without touching the gas at all it would take off under idle power
I do still get car parts/tools as gifts but it's my fiancee who buys them for me now, and she always knows what I want without me having to ask

sorry man but im confused as to how you could pop/drop the clutch without gas and it wont stall, even with lots of torque.
by dropping i am assuming you mean completely engaging the clutch, unlike slipping it.

Nice Golf,
I think the MK4 is one of my favourites, though i always did like the old MK2 aswell.
Looks like youve got some nice steady mods going on there aswell.
But please, put it on some coils or something, the ride hight is pretty high, i assume thats on standard shocks and springs?
I'm going to have to take some pics of my new car soon, ive got a Astra SRI MK4 only just got the car really. Ive got it on some coil overs though and shes nice and low
Also i'm after some more bits and bobs, i'd love a carbon bonnet for it, i think it'd go great against the red paint work.
Cheers

guess what. found some people and picked up GTI-R front and back bumpers, sideskirts and a GTI (not R) spoiler, i refuse to put the bonnet on a 1400, but i got the whole lot for 90 quid.
Also dropped her 35mm yesterday on GTI shocks and spax springs, i got all 4 shocks with the springs for 50 quid all in, bargain eh? tho with a 13 year old chassis the flex is hideous, time to find me a cheap set of braces.
Oh mate, ive only just read this all this after...

yeah not a bad golf, only think i don't like is the lexus lights.
coils are so rough for the road though a set of shocks and springs and a round of polybushing would tighten it up no end.

Nice one mate, so your getting a Sunny GTI?
Aint they got about 140BHP standard? thats not bad at all, abit of tuning could go along way on that car.
Oh and for the coils, i agree some can be pretty rough and harsh for road use, but it depends on which type you get, some are also adjustable, so you can soften them up abit if you wish.
Ive got some FK's on the Astra, and they are great, they deffinatly aren't too harsh in my opinion and the handling really is amazing, summer will be the ultimate test when the roads warm up some. They are fully adjustable too, and can drop up to 70mm
Ive only got it on standard wheels at the moment though which are 17's i'm after some 18's, they aren't the best of brands but look alright, was considering painting them or having them refurbed in black as they are second hand and seeing how much more i can drop her.

yeah ill be after a GTI to bounce around in until i can get a GTI-R im sunny mad lol, yup about 140bhp standard, prob around 125 after all these years, exhaust & intake and a few other bits and bobs should take it up to around 160 without breaking the bank, N/A tuning gets pointless really quick.
Uses the sr20 engine too, so GTI-r engine can be dropped straight in, but the prospect of 220bhp at the front with about 300kg less weight than a pulsar is a fast but scary idea.
I toyed with the idea of getting a R5 GTT, but i dont know if i can be arsed with maintenance costs and finding a gen of a 5 these days is very very hard.
Coils and their harshness come down to the driver really, i certianly dnt mind being bounced around
aw man you got to replace the wheels, put 16's on and slam the fucker

Yeah mate i can guess it might have lost abit of power over the years, but unless its been totally thrashed and has done silly miles, i bet it won't have lost too much and will probably still go pretty well.
It is indeed supprising a few bits can soon have a decent gain for the money you'd spend, but N/A tuning can actually go along way, my brother (i think ive said before) is still in the process of building his engine for his corsa, and hes putting it on throttle bodies, with normal aspirated engines on these things, they can get some real power and tourq from low down the revs. Hes hoping he'll have fastest N/A Corsa in the UK when its finished, and i think hes gona achieve it too. I think hes hoping for somewhere in the region of 240BHP all in all, in a front wheel drive car thats gona be plenty considering its size and weight, and the ammount of tourq its gona have. So far though hes spent quite a sum of cash on it, could have deffinatly put a 2litre turbo in it for much less, but hes gone for complete rebuild with forged pistons, conrods, and crank which is rare for this engine. We are in the process of sorting stuff out still, but hopefully in the distant future all will be good.
I always have quite liked the R5 turbos, but my main worry now is their age and reliability, and of course the fact its a renault isn't good in my books... Clios are the same story if you ask me..
Still none the less, i always have loved the look of those, a few tasteful mods and they can go a long way aswell.
I'd have deffinatly considered putting 16's on (though i reckon they'd look far too small on the car) but the problem is i was after a big brake conversion, i'm considering getting some wilwood 4 pots for the front, and they won't go under 16's so i need at least 17's+
To be fair though in particular on the front end at the moment, shes fair slammed on the front end, and it scraping to hell on speed humps and stuff.
Thats also quite a tidy looking GTI mate, shame you aint got the money for it at the moment. It looks like a good example as best as you can tell in the pics. Which i'd guess are gona be hard come by now days as they aren't getting any younger.
You'll have to let me know when you pick up a GTI though and show us some pics

I researched it a lot before purchasing and this is a great kit for the price. Keep in mind that the lead-acid batteries (cheapest kind) will make your bike weigh a ton, so it becomes practically unusable without using the motor. A steel fork is required and it is highly recommended to not use a fork with shocks, because the torque applied to the tips of the fork puts on more strain than it was designed for. Steel, rigid bikes are luckily the cheapest though, so I bought this bike for $40 used and kept my nicer bike for rides without the motor.

havnt waxed her in about a year lol mate, she has kept her colo0ur well though, aside from the bonnet her paint is good, still gleaming red an almost the same as when it rolled out the factory. The laquer on the bonnet has went dry so it looks a bit naff but im not bothered anymore.
shes on gti shocks and spax springs, i managed to get 4 shocks with the spring in vgc for £50 all in (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) ideally i would have kept the original front shocks cos the sr20 in the gti is a touch heavier, but one of my originals was busted so best to swap, still tightened the handling up a treat.

yes, it's s13 Silvia front end available only in Japan. and yes the "Bonnet" ((IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)) is carbon fiber.
though the whole thing is a bit dusty having sat in my garage for a number of weeks, and sat in someone's barn for a number of months before that.
both the hood and and the grill could deal to be polished up too...
I plan on having the body fixed up and repainted in Nissan Skyline "Midnight Purple II", maybe even the hood too, I don't know if the carbon fiber look is really for me.

ROFL... That area down at station sq was scary, was always expecting a bum to attack me.
We almost got arrested a few nights later, I had my buddy in town who is a hobbyist photographer and has a high dollar DSLR and we had 2 GTO's and 2 Cobalt SS's together, he wanted to get some shots so we drove around looking for spots and decided that we could totally drive on the sidewalk on the side of PNC Park.... Well the street you have to go down is closed and the turn around was marked emergency vehicles only... it was 3am so we decided to go down there anyway, drive up on the sidewalk (Which involved squeezing between the PNC Park entrance gate and a light post), all was going well until we saw a PGH Police officer drive by the top of the street then turn down. We got yelled at pretty good, asked if we were stupid etc etc and told if we were not gone by the time he made another loop of W General Robinson st we were in deep shit. Oh and my friend found out he forgot his tripod... so pics weren't even worth it

2007 CBR 125..... Dunno if they are available in the states yet. not a speed demon but quick around town. It will do more then the speed limit on the highway so its fast enough! Also 70-120 mpg depending on how you drive it and a 2005 Mazda 3 sedan as my "gas guzzler".... lol
Unfortunately no we don't have anything smaller than the inline 4 600cc size here for the CBRs. Since we don't have any real licensing restrictions here in the US, the dealers push the larger size bikes since it lines their pockets with cash which forces people to buy bikes that are much bigger than they really need or want. The smallest sport bike we have here in the states is the Kawasaki Ninja 250 (the only one in it's class) and even on that we get the shaft as here it is a twin carb version and over in Europe you get the EFI on the 250 Ninja. Manufacturers need to realize that there is still a significant and prominent market here in the US for a well powered 250 bike (ie CBR250) and give beginner/practical riders some fun, yet, smaller sized motorcycles here. Way too many people over here who are talked into bikes that are too large for them and they end up getting seriously hurt or killed.
Anyways I just got started with riding so I went with something that I wouldn't get my self killed on and was cheap. One '95 Honda Nighthawk 250 (CB250) with just over 3800 miles. Cost me a whopping $900. Works perfect for just about everything I want.

WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!!! Just got word that the CBR250 is coming to the US next year as a 2011 model. Unfortunately it is not the snappy little I4 beast that they produced in Japan and Australia but at least it gives us another small sport bike option besides the 250 Ninja.

I haven't been here in a loooong time. Maybe some of you remember me.
These 2 are much more recent, taken on November 6, 2010.
I'm sporting a new race suit too, it's a much better quality, black in colour, i'm also about to buy a newer kart chassis too, so 2011 for my second season of karting should be a very interesting year!
Edit: Changed image links so you can actually see them before clicking on them.
