Alright. My friend gave me his untouched xbox to fix for him because it loads an error 21. The xbox has been untouched i only opened it after the error was there. Never has it been opened before. I can't think of what to do or how to fix it. Here is a description of what happens at boot... Xbox loads weird little flubber thing. Next, the xbox shows the splash screen for MS xbox. Lastly, with or without a game in the drive, the xbox loads an error 21 needs service message and frags. Help please.

"21 - anywhere - This error says that the machine was booted to display a error, basically someone told the machine to reboot (or launch a xbe) with this flag, and the error code just means its been rebooted by the flag"
This only tells me what is wrong with the xbox. it doesnt say nething on how to fix it. thanks for the reply tho.

Chip it, repair the hdd with a prog like AID v2.11, take the chip out (or leave it in I don't care). BTW, was this a failed softmod attempt?

not at all... It is completely untouched. never been opened.

Alright guys same problem here "error code 21"
my xbox wont boot to ms dashboard and it wont the original game "007 agent under fire" or any other games
it both case im getting error 21
The thing is that i know i have the file "eeprom.bin" somewhere on my xbox hard drive on the E: partition
Is there a way for me to get that file by software or hardware modification ?
Maybe i'll have to use a chip to repair my xbox ?

xbmods....
there is no way it "just happened" an error 21 usually comes after a failed softmod, or someone deleteing something or not adding something they should have.
your friend could be lying right?? lol naive??
get a chip, thats about it
