Title: Question About My Amp
Post by: He4dHuNt3rJaCk on October 25, 2004, 10:43:00 AM
ok well i have a bazooka amp and some subs for it, but they still work fine, i checked all the fuses and wiring, but the amp is not getting power for some reason. when i took the car to best buy they said that it was a problem with the blue/white wires which go out commonly on sony HU's from what  they tell me. btw my hu is a cdx-m630. so they said it needs another source of REM power. Ive tried reading on the net all day about it and it all goes over my head. any help or suggestions from anybody would be wonderful.

did you try running a wire from the "remote" input on the amp ( where you hook it up to the cd player), to the power input? if it works then, then you know that the cd deck is the problem

just to see if it will come on, get a small piece of wire and touch it on the power wire on your amp, and the remote wiere terminal and see if the amp will cut on.  if it does, then it's your remote wire.

if it doesnt come on at all then that could be, but if it comes on when he puts power to the remote terminal, then its the remote wire.   check ground to see if it came loose, check inline fuse up under the hood, check fuses on amp if there are any
