i would buy any mercedes over a jaguar...opinions?

depends which model of course... but ive heard jags have shitty electricle.. but thats just a generalization.

well since ford bought jaguar, the electrical problems have been gone, and they are ranked number 3 on jd  powers quality list, merecedes is number 10 unfortunately, but id still buy a merc.

mercedes all the way
i no a couple of ppl who have had jags and they have had problems wit them
my mom has an S500 and we've had no problems wit it    except that the screen for the xbox blew out    (not standard in the car)
if ur going to buy one of the two go wit a mercedes



edit: i got a new screen thats bigger and better

I've got to agree that this one is a toss up now.  10 years ago I would've said Mercedes all the way (Nothing but problems with the Jags until recently).  However, I have heard that Jag has started producing some decent machines recently (after Ford bought them).  So I don't know.  I guess I would go with whichever one is giving me more for the money.

I think that almost Mercs look better than jags. So i would get a Merc.

Depends on the car I guess, both have options I'd drive. I certainly would never say ANY model of one car is better then ANY of another, unless Kia or Daewoo is being thrown into the mix.

You've sort of hit the nail on the head there, jaguar is fast becomming just a victim of badge engineering for ford, the x-type is simply a re-bodied mondeo and the fact that they have released a diesel engined jag just spells the end of an era to me

A two litre jag? Fuck no. Diesel? Leave it in the tractor!

i personally dont like the way most jags look. the only thing i like about them is the cool jaguar hood ornament

The word Mercedes in the title captured my attention, I just want to say that Benz is massive and long which shows "class". And safer of course, (well at least feels safer.) You see, I tried the e320 when she reaches 60 miles it feels stable, and as she goes faster it feels more stabler. The steering wheel has a motion of 2.25 cycles (Compared to normal cars' 1.5) which makes life a lot easier. Jaguar could never do that! Though Panther might...

True story: I know this guy who got a car accident....You see he was driving responsibly, but this young bitch rushed to the opposite lane and hit the guy head to head. He was driving a C-class and right after the crash, he can walk out of the car...But the bitch's legs are dead and have to be sawed. So crash all you want with your Mercedes cuz you'll never die in it!

A lot of generalizations in this thread. To say you'd take ANY Benz over ANY Jag is not really that great a statement. Jag has some decent rides. Maybe not all of them are great, but some are.



The 2004 Jag XK has pretty nice looks. Decent specs too,

I believe manual gearboxes are an optional extra!

ok so they have one decent car
but there are still many many mercedes that are better than that
(and it has less horsepower and torque than my moms car which isnt even a sports car)
