Title: Can't Power On Xbox
Post by: vchaz on November 15, 2005, 09:16:00 AM
After my modded xbox (w/ executer 2)  was sitting unused for a while, I tried booting it up, and the only thing that happens is the blue light from the chip flashes for half a second and shuts off.  THe power button doesn't even flash.  I was wondering if  replacing the power supply would fix this problem, or if there was a way I could rule this out... I don't know a whole lot about electronics (bought this xbox from someone on the B/S/T here on xbox-scene...) but don't want to plunk down $40 for a new psu if it's not going to solve anything...

thanks for any help,

Ryan

Talk to your bst. Find out if there were any problems. You want to check that the chip is installed correctly. Quite possibly, the LPC wasnt soldered correctly.

Check to make sure that the grounding screw attachment is hitting anything metal around it, like a small resistor (had this happen with my v1.1).
