Hello,
I have 3 xboxs sitting at my house and I would like to get one of the three to work. I dont have any type of modchip as I have always done soft mod. All three xboxs are missing Hard Drives. I dont have the original Hard Drives and was wondering if there is any way I can put a new hard drive in without having to know the originals Hard Drives password (Unlock / Lock ). I would really like to try and fix them without a modchip but if neccesary I will get one. And if I do need one what one would be the best to get for my situation. Also if I get a modchip could I get 3 new Hard Drives ..... Put the modchip in one xbox and put the new hard drive in ........ Lock it and then put the modchip in the second xbox ...... put new hard drive in it and lock it ........ then same with the third and get all 3 xboxs working that way?

IF you are wanting to just get 3 drives then you can get a solderless modchip, load the hacked bios on it and run Slayers to format the drive to the original specs. Then you can lock it and move to the next box.
After that you can soft mod them and keep the solderless chip as a tool.

Yeah, go the solderless chip way. The only other way is with an EEProm reader, which is quite messy. And requires modification to work with the xbox.

The reason none of them have hard drives is because I bought one without one and the other two I just didnt back anything up at the time so I threw them away. So If I get a solderless Modchip and bought 3 Hard Drives I would be able to get all three working? Also Could I leave one of them unmodded so I can get on Xbox Live? What solderless Mod should I get and what online store because the last time I bought 2 modchips online and one was a fake and the second one never came in. I dont want to get burned again. That is why I went to softmodding which is great. Although it was a little more work when upgrading the hard drive.

The great thing about putting a solderless on is that you can get an old unlocked factory drive if you want and put it in a xbox, lock it and load the original structure so now you have an original xbox (As far as going on live, you will need to know if the eeprom was banned)
As far as which model, that really depends on what you want out of the chip.
Where to buy, once again if you have not built up a repore with some suppliers then check out the BST section and look for someone with a good rep.

All I want out of the modchip is to get the 3 hard drives I will be buying locked to the xboxs. I will then do what I have always done and softmod. So I am just looking for the eaisest modchip to do just that. I know taht none of the three EEPROMS are banned so I think I will be able to go on live on whatever one I choose not to softmod. But where would I get the modchip? Where has other people gotten theres and what brand would be good for my specific situatuion?

Just pop into the BST here and see whats for sale or post a request.
I use to install solderless all the time (Mainly the XBIT) but when they switched to the 1.5 I had too many issues so I just focus on soldering in. There are many options out right now so see which you like then ask if any has for sale in the buy sell forum.
