Put the HD back in the xbox, get a boot disk, and unlock. I recomend Slayers.

Thank you very much for your help.

I finally found the unlock key on a save disk I made previously that contained the /backup directory ! The rest was relatively easy.

Anyway for my personal understanding, slayer allows you to unlock the drive with no xbox filesystem on it ? Where does the key come from in that case ? I thought it was necessary to create the /backup directory and get the key in the hddinfo.txt file ?

I also accidently tried to reformat my locked HD.
It totally locked up and would not allow any more writes.
However, I dont have a backup key. So I can't unlock it.

So if you tell me what slayers is and how it works to
unlock the HD, that would be awesome!
