Post by: Fierce on January 31, 2004, 05:54:00 PM
Could someone help?, i have windowsxp no firewalls enabled 2 nics cards dsl speadstream modem not a wireless. I configured the network settings for each card. Turned on the internect connection sharing option on the card connected to the modem. I can ftp to the computer from the xbox, I can sign on too xlink with rooms and members showing, But i can't play anybody in a game. maybe my network settings are off. Is there a website for configuring xlink for winxp with 2 nic cards, if so can you post? or mention how to do this.

Have you opened the game first and are in the "System-Link" multiplayer mode?  It wont automatically connect you if you're not.

How about not confuse yourself and just use XLink for the meantime...

Just because you entered a room with someone in there, doesn't mean that they are actually hosting a game on their XBox (one *MASSIVE* misconception by a lot of people).

If you can use XLink, you can chat to the other users etc, to make sure that a game is actually available to join on the XBox....

i had friends host games waiting for me to join, so that could'nt be it. Voice communicator works, just can't connect game. Is it because i need to port forward. I have a speedstream 5100 modem that came with sbc dsl and theres no port forwarding option, is there a way i can set this in windowxp?
