Title: Piggybacking Off Laptop Wifi With Xbox Connected Via Cable
Post by: cglotr on December 03, 2005, 06:43:00 AM
I want to get my xbox onto live but don't have a wireless access point for it.  However I do have a wifi router and a wifi laptop, is it possible to connect my xbox to my laptop via cable and then use the laptops wifi to connect to Live? If so, could anyone talk me through how I'd set such a thing up please?  Many thanks

(using Windows XP and a Netgear DG834G Router)

Take a ethernet cable and connect one end to the xbox and the other to a port on the back of the router.

it is possible to do this yes

i did it when i first moved. cept i didnt have a wireless router. mine was more complicated

laptop was used as an adhoc. i shared the connection to my lan and all pc's on the lan had internet (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
