Title: Am I Ok For Halo 2 With This Setup?
Post by: daniel_8775 on November 12, 2004, 07:13:00 PM
OK, I've been on Live before with my retail HDD, and my EEPROM got banned. So, I upgraded to a 120 GB Western Digital, and got a new EEPROM, and I no longer get the modified Xbox error, but I havn't signed up yet. I have an Xecuter 2.1 PRO chip, so with the mod off, and the HDD locked, will I get banned? Thanks,

Dan

It's hard to say. If you swapped the EEPROM and the HD at the same time then, in all likelyhood you will be OK. And that takes into account the possibility that the "Marriage Theory" is correct (which is the only theory that makes any logical sense at this point). The only way to know for sure is to try it.

As long as the EEPROM and HD haven't been previously registered on Live you should be OK.

Alright. Activated my account. Been playing for about a half hour, seems okay. So does all this shit only affect Xboxs that have had Live before? Like if you had an Xbox with a new HDD and EEPROM, never been on live with it... it's okay, and you won't get banned? I hope I don't get banned  mad.gif  sad.gif

EDIT: Can't they read my HDD specs... that I have a 120 GB, and that there are apps, and games on it?

we dont really know if they can read the specs.
and the marriage theory is proven again that "1 doenst get banned if they go on xbl AFTER modding, upgrading his xbox"

Thing is, you never know. MS could start looking even harder to ban people

You need to get a new GamerTag too

(could be too late now sad.gif, the addendum is if you have been banned before, then your gamertag is flagged for more extensive checks, and you just can't go on with the same gamertag + a bigger hd anymore)

Read the marriage theory post carefully.

I'm not using the same gamertag, I'm using a different one.

EDIT: Btw, been about 14 hours, still going strong.

Yup, I'll make a post if everything goes well... and if it doesn't, I will try again, and I won't give up on these M$ bastards, there has got to be  a way, but yes, still going strong.

Hmm, Have you tried to stop going on live, disconnect your ethernet plug , enable mod....Play a backed up game...then shut xbox off , re-connect boot with chip disabled , and go to xbox live ?

Ok guys i have have everything retail and an executer 2.3 lite chip with manual bios switch. I have never had a problem with xbox live and never made a mistake with the modchip (i unplug the network cable everytime)

Only thing is that i have a ''dirty'' harddrive > i have many different apps and evox sitting on my hd, also i have a lot of gamesaves from backed up games. I have deleted my french  halo save  as a precaution, but will i be ok with this setup?

I really want to play h2 online and xboxconnect and xlink just aint as cool.

ps: I hate those micro$oft bastards for doing this and i'll never buy a second xbox just for live...

ok, i have a stock HDD, i have never been on xbox live, i have a xbit mod chip that has stealth mode.  the only thing my hard drive has on it that is not stock is the xecuter bios which i boot from. Is there a chance that i will get banned?
Also do i need to delete the xecuter bios or can i just boot from the MS bios that comes on the xbox?

If the marriage theory is correct, you should be ok wink.gif

Okay, I signed up for Live ever since 11:00 PM Sunday, and I am still not banned. Do you think I'm home free? Will I get banned?

Where do you have your dashboard, games, apps. Is it on F or mixed with the other partitions? That is my question for future bannings.

Like someone else asked, have you used the modchip since you became unbanned?

I put ALL on "F" to prevent M$ from scanning too deep.  Just use the Auto Installer Delux to install the 5960 M$ original dash on the "C" drive.
