oh k, ip is on auto, it configures, dns is on auto, that configures, but then i receive the general "xbox live can not connect" message

i dont know what to do

i have gotten on the phone with tech support and they have offered help but nothing helped, they never said i was banned.  If someone could show me a link to network codes that would be a great help possibley.

i just messed with my eeproms..
i tried a fresh one, i got the same message
i tried the one i was previously banned with, i used to get hardware modified, but now im getting connection to xbox live not found.  this doesn't seem good... am i going to need a new box?

now when i try to get on live desktop, it loads a lot then i get some "welcome to xboxlive" screen.  if i go to network settings and try to connect that way, after ip and dns it gives me the network error, xblive not found

Have you tried using the Enigmah Video Mode Switchdisc to reset your PAL or NTSC setting?  When my Xbox can't connect to Live, I usually just open the app, switch it to NTSC, then back to PAL (without exiting the program), then reboot the Xbox.  Strangely, this usually fixes the connection problem.

i am in ntsc, i tried switching to pal, restarting with screen flickering, then back to ntsc, no luck

im starting to think my port might be broken
i can ftp, im having some problems with xbc where as i didnt before
im currently trying to get xbc to work, ill get back on how this works out

hey i'm getting the exact same shit.   dunno what it means...but i shouldnt have been banned either.  i tried resetting my router, no luck.

i put in my original eeprom, and my original drive that i used to use with xblive,
i read somewhere xbl might "ban" you if your original drive differs from the one associated with your oriignal eeprom.  so that proved to be no luck

i need to find an answer to this, either im banned or my ethernet port is broke.

xbconnect works perfectly

is there any way i can reinstall xbox live?

have you ever took into consideration that Xbox Live could be down? like "Down for Maintenance" You know like when your ISP cuts out for a while for upgrades..

Do you have a Xenium mod chip?  There is a bug that if you have your headset plugged in while you boot into the OG BIOS you will get the error message yo are getting.  Unplug your headset, boot into live and then plug headset back in.

i have the same exact numbers as you. i spoke with a xbl tech for a hour today, he couldnt figure itout and was told i would need something like level 2 tech support. im waiting for that call. and i will let you know what they say.

I am having the same problem. Have you changed any settings at all on your router before this happened? This problem started happening for me when my dad switched to a noncompatible router then i switched it when I got back home, and that is when the Xbox Live Not Responding and Not Found started. Try opening ports.... UDP 88, UDP 3074, and TCP 3074. Also call the company that makes the router. I will let you know when I get mine working and how to do it.

i dont like to give out bad news but a few months ago i had the live not found problem and in the end the only way to fix it was a new eeprom i got from my broken m/b and now that new eeprom is also banned due to new live checks so they must have me on the shit list and banned it with the hdd s/n check

just to make sure that the eeprom was banned i tryed to connect with the chip ON to see if i got the you have a mod crap or live not found and it still said live not found! i also tryed another xbox to make sure xbox live was working ok also


1.if you have live not found it can mean your banned
2.you cant just change your eeprom anymore to fix it

also i'm from the uk with NTL as my isp and my wxyz codes are

w 0000-0015
x 0001-8005
y 00c2-0380
z 0000-0000

i got comcast and i tried running directly into the modem

the thing i dont really get.. is how miscrosoft would spend a lot of time with tech help and they cant tell me im banned

EXACTLY the same problem I have (UK as well) Those look like the same codes as me. The 00C2 in the Y is definatly the same.

if the dns pass ok it shouldnt have much to do with your isp but then again i'm with ntl

it sounds like if i get an eeprom from a non-live box, and try it for the first tiem with a fresh hard drive, itll work?

or i guess getting a new box would work

There is very few cases where you get "Live not found" message and not being banned. Can almost guarantee that if you have a modded box and get this message you are banned! Doesn’t matter what MS tells you, I’ve been through the same. I told them I thought I might be banned, but they didn’t even respond to that....

 hey I am having the same problem but I have not done anything to my xbox it is the same as when I bought it I was playing last thursday night and then friday I could no longer get online. I also have called tech support and they gave me a ref # and said someone would get back with me I have had my xbox live account for 10 months and this is the first problem like this It seems everyone is talking over my head with their advice but does anyone think it could be a virus or am I screwed and going to have to buy a new xbox for xbox live because my xbox still plays games just not online Im hooked in directly to my modem too

Hey I'am having the same problem, getting a xbox live not found error. Thing is xbox lives been working for me till up to yesterday and now I can't get on and I really want to play halo 2 on xbox live, and I never played the halo 2 leak so. here are my w,x,y,z code I saw some people on the thread with the same ones.

Well, my buddy bought a brand new xbox, H2, etc just to play Halo 2 online.  This is an UNMODDED xbox, and it does the same thing.  Any idea why on an unmodded xbox?  He has never been on before.

Alright guys this is really getting fucked now.. I have the exact same codes:
X 0000 - F001
Y 0000 - 0FE0
Z AFFF - 0018

I have tried everything aswell.. forwarded everything to box, tried straight through modem with pc's MAC address, checked my settings, reverted to previous working xbox live state.. nothing.. went to RETAIL state and upgraded..

NOTHING... I've been on tech support for maybe 5 hours in total with xbox live support and isp/router support. I'm STUMPED to tell you the least, i also played the halo 2 leak and the MS people told me nothing that ic ould be banned..

Right now, my retail drive is in a total legal state, but my problems have not necessarily been recent as i got the same error a few months ago. My router is BEFSR41 v2 which is apparently not supposed to work with xbl, but the fact that i get the same thing without my router makes me think..  ANY info would be appreciated.

i'm pretty sure this error means you're banned.  i updated my eeprom and after i did i got this error.  i didn't change my hdd though.  so i have a feeling ms checks the hdd against all the ones in their little banned database.  if there is a match they don't seem to ban you outright.  i have a feeling if i were to get a new drive and toss it in it might work.  but since my current drive matches a drive in their list they just don't respond.  and it isn't a router setting or anything else unless one of the first 3 tests come up in red.  if all the ip, dns and shit tests pass and the last one that tries to connect to live doesn't then it's them actively rejecting you.  i would go out and buy a new hdd to test it but i don't care that much.  if i find an hd around my house that i don't use anymore i'll pop it in, format it, etc and update everyone on what happens.

Your Y code hase a 6 at the 7th space.
Any Y code combo xxxx-xx6x is a bann.

well guys... ive had this problem many of times
my router was xbl compatible.. i was playing downstairs and went for work
came back and a friend cleaned the house and moved my xbox (unplugged it and put it on the shelf and shit).. when i left it was running

i was told i might be banned so i tried changing my hdd key.. and it said theres a problem wiht my xbox (only when i tried to connect to live)... well i reverted back the the original hhd key.. still couldnt get back on.. i connected my modem right to my xbox entered pppoe settings and shit. it timed out... i tried again and it worked instantly.. i cehcked my router and disabled uPnP or whatever.. and the other shit,... infact i even disabled gaming mode (sposed to be enabled for xbox live).. sure enough i was back on

try power cycling your modem...  and your router

ok i found out how to obtain your wxyz codes


go into your network settings in xbox live
go to the place where u test your connection
after it tests, go on help and press Y

itll give you your #'s


for the record mine goes as follows:
