I bought a modded xbox360 some years ago and, up until now, all backups have been playing smoothly.
Today I got GTA V and once I start it, it asks for an update, otherwise it won't play.
I'm afraid that if I do the update, all my backups won't be playing anymore...
I'm really not familiar with modding. My firmware is 2,0,14719,0.
Will it be safe to accept the update? Or will I have to mod it again?

Gta V will update to 16202.

Now I wonder, if I accept it, will the backups still be playable? Or there's just no way of keeping the mod after the update to get XBL?

Sounds like you might have not made your image right and need to physically hook up a programmer to it and reflash it with a proper image.

If you are on 16202 and already updated and it didn't mess up your firmware mod, then you are ok because you are way past the dash that reflashed the drives to stock. The last firmware 3.0 for most drives came out December XMAS 2011 and MS has not dont anything to compromise the firmware or anything with dashboard updates for a long time.
