Title: 0010 Southbridge Error On Slim
Post by: TTG TriCkSh0tZz on August 06, 2013, 10:10:00 AM
hello, in have a corona mobo that i messed up while soldering L.E.D's to the underside of the power connector. I accidentally shorted two wires and then ended up with the 0010 error. I have considered replacing the southbridge but i do not have the tools needed (plus im not very knowledgeable in this area). If anybody knows what is the best and cheapest way to proceed i would be very gratelful. Its not a priority as i already have two other working xboxs but theres no point having a bricked mobo is there! Thanks in advance for any responses

QUOTE
Remove: R5B4 and R5A11.
Check: Voltage from "hot" side of resistors and resistance between "cold" side of resistors (this one do WITHOUT PSU plugged) and GND.

i have checked with a spare psu but still no luck. However i just realised that i gave you the wrong error code!! its actually giving me a 0021 code, sorry about that

also the southbridge chip itself is getting too hot to even touch, i doubt that is normal. Do you think the chip is fried?

I am not so familiar with the corona boards, but yes it is possible it is a faulty southbridge
