If the LAN ports aren't working, the network chip is likely fried. Soldering directly to the motherboard wouldn't solve that problem. You'd need to wholly replace the network chips.

just no LAN / ethernet activity. I know that the chipmight be fried but some ppl change network port and it works so i can try this. If it won't work i will try to put new internet chip.

Not saying that I know for certain
But since you are not getting an onscreen E76 error ... the ethernet controller chip might not be dead
If you have the Wifi adapter and it will connect to a router/modem. Then the controller chip is probably fine. Some modems even have a USB connection port. I'd try this stuff first.
The Lightning strike might have just ruined the LAN port. There is a small circuit board in the ethernet port hub. That board might have taken the damage.
btw ... What's the controller ? BCM or ICS ?

Are you sure the USB WiFi adapter uses the NIC? That sounds like a design from hell.
-
Fair enough. I was just asking.
-
A bad ICS or BCM chip will not always throw an error, sometimes it just will not connect.
The Wireless adapter has nothing to do with the on board Ethernet.

Have anyone a diagram?
