Title: Funky Happenings With Jasper 360
Post by: itwontfixitself on March 05, 2012, 01:00:00 PM
I had an e64 this last weekend that I could not figure out.  It too would work fine without the DVD drive connected.   I messed with it forever.  I finally tried changing the DVD power and sata cables and it worked.   Probably just a fluke that it worked for me but it's worth a try I guess.

This is normal after 6 power failures in 3 hours!!! smile.gif
Replace the capacitor, but have in mind that you might more components, malfunctioning there. If all go well and you repair it, install a power stabilizer between your xbox and the power socket. Just to be safe for the future.

Remember to make your life easier... use fresh solder on the capacitor legs, to make the old factory made solder goes to melting point easier and faster. Otherwise you will get burned smile.gif
