Title: Safe To Play Games Installed On A Usb Stick?
Post by: Aldanga on January 27, 2012, 06:02:00 PM
You don't have to worry about killing the socket. Your USB drive will die long, long before the socket craps out. It's a non-issue.

Multiple USB devices are not problematic. (Why would the console have multiple slots if it weren't safe?) You might not get as good transfer rates as they run on the same controller, but the difference will be negligible in most cases.

With regard to the games that are installed on the USB, does it matter whether I use the front or back ports?  Are there any differences at all?  I assume it still won't kill the socket (front or back).

I don't think so. I honestly don't remember if the ports run off of the same controller, but it's going to make very little difference either way.

You will never, ever have to worry about the sockets dying.
