Title: Cannot Cold Boot To Evox, But Boots To Msdash Fine
Post by: whoahdude on April 18, 2005, 07:46:00 PM
Recently my modded xbox won't cold boot to evox.  It cold boots to msdash with no problems.  If I leave the xbox on for about 5 min., then xbox will boot to evox.  Seems like it needs to warm up before it can boot to the mod chip.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Can anyone help?  Thanks in advance.

Did you use a solderless chip? Maybe the chip needs to be realigned or tightened.

Thanks.  I do have a solderless chip.  I'll try realigning/tightening it.  But, what's the reasoning behind the problem that occurs.

Perhaps your D0 connection is slightly misalligned and the change in temperature inside the box causes the metal to expand and make a connection???
Or perhaps the vibration of the HD or fan has a similar effect?

Yea like he said, there are a lot of causes but if the chip comes out of contact with all the points, the xbox will frag when you try to boot it or the chip just won't activate and you'll go right to the MS dash.

I tightend the screw on the d0 and that fixed it.  Thanks guys for your help.
