Title: European Component Hd Cable?
Post by: Annabelle on February 16, 2011, 08:58:00 PM
What pins under the AV Port have to be shorted in order to specify the proper Output Mode
for self-wired component cables?

Pin 26 and Pin 28 ?

If you short those two pins, will it ensure HD Output over component for both Europeans and Americans?

On a side note, if you are using an HDMI Cable for video,
and don't have anything actually plugged into the AV Port,
and no 'Cable ID' pins shorted,
will it still output Analog (Stereo RCA) and Digital (Optical or Coaxial) Audio, if they are hard wired?
I'm asking because the official Audio Cable from MS that ppl use when using HDMI has some weird pins showing along the bottom of the connector:

Pin 10 V-Sync Ground
Pin 12 V-Sync (VGA Mode)

Pin 14 Audio Left Ground
Pin 15 Audio Left Signal
Pin 18 Cable ID 1
Pin 20 Cable ID 1.1

I dunno if the bolded pins actually connect to anything in the cable.
It's just really weird to me that they are there at all.
