Title: Dvd Drive Tray Problem
Post by: almunro on January 02, 2010, 09:15:00 AM
I have a elite with a pilips/benq drive. The drive will not eject when the xbox is assembled either by the eject button or by the menu.

I diassembled the xbox and tested the drive and found that it works perfectly when the top metal casing of the drive is not on it, either just in place or screwed down. Although im not fnatstic with this sort of thing, ive figured out that its the cradle that the laser sits on, will not drop down and allow the tray to slide out. And thus that if i tap on the top of the drive, or harder on the assembled box, the tray will come out when the eject button/menu command is pressed.

As this xbox is out of warranty and i want to keep my xbox on live, is there a way to fix this? Or do i just live with hitting my xbox when i want to eject the tray?

Thanks

Alex
