If the console worked before you tried to repair it, you mosst likely shorting something out. How much thermal paste did you put on.

SUCCESS!!! To answer the response I got, yes it was working but with no video. I've repaired a few consoles so I've reached a point where I can gauge the amount of thermal paste pretty well. I use the method posted here and it works very well. For some reason though it was shorting somewhere along the screws that secure the case to the motherboard and the heat sinks. I decided to try a direct mount to the motherboard. Same method but with the screws just floating above the case instead of passing through it. Worked like a charm.
