OK, so i was heatgunning a 360 motherboard and noticed that the motherboard kinda flexes during the process, it looks like the center lifts up a tad, and then goes back down during cooling. So what i was thinking was screwing it into the motherboard cage before heatgunning it,
Like you could unscrew the posts from the heatsinks and put them through their holes so you can screw the black screws into them, and put all of the small silver screws in as well. Theoretically, it would keep the motherboard flat while heatgunning it and so the motherboard would cool straight and not move, instead of de-flexing while cooling, therefore making the joints stronger
Does any of this make sense or would i just be wasting my time?

Without anywhere to flex the motherboard might crack under stress.

Hmm, i hadn't thought about that. maybe i'll try it on an older 360 that wouldn't matter if it broke any further and see how it works out.

to avoid that flex you need to try to evenly heat the upper and lower side of the board. Just heating one side will make it real bad.
