So, I get a broken Falcon 360 to fix, and before I do any work it has 0102, pretty standard from my experience. I open it up and start doing the the x-clamp fix, following llamma's guide every step by step. I thought everything went perfectly, never did anything that even came remotely close to damaging the mobo or any part of it. Everything's in place, and I go to turn it on, and I get 0031, plus fans cutting out after a second, which usually means a short somewhere. Reading around, standard 0031 problems are overtightened screws or cracked RAM. I completely removed the screws and the heatsinks, and the same error persisted, and every single RAM module appears to be in perfect condition. I checked the areas around the screws for damage to the motherboard, but there is absolutely none. There was some dust on the board which I cleaned off, and a very small bit of Arctic Silver 5 was on the board, which I also cleaned off, but the error remained exactly the same. I'm completely bewildered. I'll try again in a couple days, maybe it was caused by overtightened screws, but this should not be happening. I'm fairly experienced with 360's, fixed quite a few of them, but this is really making me batty.
