Title: 60gb Hdd Problem
Post by: JerzeyLegend on November 24, 2008, 01:44:00 AM
I used the seach feature to no avail.

Here's the deal:

I was playing Mercs 2 on Xbox Live. Got Can't Read Disc error. Xbox 360 got stuck. I shut it down. Restarted and got single red ring. E68 I believe. HDD error. I opened so it's too late to send back to M$.

Its the 60GB HDD. I have the new Pro. I opened the HDD to put it in my PC. Shows up as HD-DVD ROM in Windows Explorer. Also Xplorer360 says "Can't Find FATX device".

I thought that if I formatted it, it would be revived. It spins up, I guess the shut down must have corrupted a system file or something. This was 1 month 1/2 old.

Are there any drivers to get Windows Vista to recognize it? Please help. I have it hooked up via SATA on my mobo which is a VIA chipset.

Also BTW, the new 80GB (only one I ever opened) Sony's and the 60GB (only one I ever opened) have identical HDDs.

I tried switching, but Xbox did not even acknowledge the PS3 HDD.
