xcalixxryderx what you just said is completely backwards.... and inside out... and devoid of all thought.
by not using this mod you can't chainsaw someone in a game that's not out yet...

Anyway, I just hope they have buttons on the bottom and that I can solder them to where ever I'd like. I was just looking at my wired controller and wanting to add Y & B under the right side and X & A under the left. This way it's a FPS controller and a regular 360 controller in one.

Can't wait to see pics of a prototype.

I really hope MS come up with a way to ban people with these.

I just don't understand why people use them blink.gif  It's like taking steroids to win a race... yes you may have come first but did you really win?

Anything that gives you an unfair advantage over other competitors is cheating, plain and simple.

It makes me sick that XCM would even consider making this mod so simple for anyone to do just so they can make some cash. Xbox LIVE and gears of war 2 will be plagued with cheating 12 year old kids that got the replacement controller shell for christmas. I just cant wait to hear "owned" and "pwned" over and over again by these bastards firing 20 rounds a second from the pistol.

Turbo controllers have been around since way before those whinning 12 year olds were even born. It's not like this is something new.

can't GOW2 and any other game put a cap on the fire rate of their weapons so they can't be fired off at an inhuman rate?

Look, I know this kind of "debate" if you will, will always have the "pro" and "con" side..  which I've basically seperated into two categories for those who support things like this and ones who don't.. it's CHEATERS and NON-CHEATERS.

We're talking about mass producing something that can be used on Xbox Live to cheat.

If the console manufactures or developers thought we needed this feature for gameplay, it would be there!

Defend that.

I don't care about turbo controllers for offline play. When it comes to Live, it should be an even playing field. Ban 'em all.

Ahh yes the timeless question to turbo or not to turbo..  just a couple of quick things though..

They are just making the controller shell.. if you want to point fingers for simplicity of the mod thank acid mods : )

Yes.. infact I have tested one of these spit fire modded controllers and the only game Ive seen it do well at is COD4 .. most other games already have a ( hold down to fire at maximum speed ability ) so the turbo feature doesnt help

True. but that was before popular online play ( I remember my snes with my X-Band .. ) anyway yeah back in the good ole days there was plenty of turbo/macro controllers .. but really this feature cant really be defened..

And honestly I wonder what this controller is going to be anyway.. to do this simple mod all you need is a momentary button and some wire .. so are they going to be selling me a controller with a button already mounted? If they released a controller that was as capable as the first spit fire ( the one with the pic chip ) that can do macro commands.. then I would be a little more upset.. I mean I havent seen it yet.. but I bet someone out there is doing some nasty 10+ hit combos

One last thing.. if its xcm its going to be quality.. so let the fun begin  tongue.gif

Apparently there is already a major 3rd party turbo controller..

just thought I would add that in there.. strange I never knew

Bad XCM.  How dare they offer something that already exists.  They are a company and want to make money like most companies.  I don't like the fact that they're out there but everyone is posting like XCM invented the f%king idea of it in the first place.  There are well over 2000 posts between the different rapid fire threads on this site alone, so better go flame all the them too.  I don't know why its so hard to code the game to only allow a pistol to fire 45 times per minute and no faster, but that would stop this dead in its tracks if they took more time to do that and cared less about stupid cut scenes.

Waah, someone shoots faster than me, waah!  Oh, how could they sell those...waah.  lets ban them, waah!  it's not fair...waah  There's steroid use in baseball, waah!!!!!!!!

I don't mean to mock anyone, er...I do actually.  But this crap isnt new!  Its not new on consoles and wait for it.....it's not new to online gaming!  Shocking.

There were turbo controllers for the original xbox.
MadKatz makes a turbo controler for the 360.

PC gaming devices have had rapid function and turbo and even seting your keyboard functions to allow turbo or rapid fire.

There are a lot more annoying things people can do on live than rapid fire!

I don't understand why people complain about everything

Cheater.

Haha...that sums it all up! Just don't tell my wife smile.gif

I never said I would use a rapid fire controller and i definately won't mod mine.  Besides, I never win anyway and that probably won't change if i could hit my button really fast or not.

while i applaud the technological aspects of the mod, the utility would be only for cheaters...

Banning for using these seems extreme and unlikely, but it shouldnt be too hard to detect them as no one hits a button exactly 32ms apart (or whatever) every time.  So I would think in games where it matters (fps and track and field come to mind) I think it would be great if 3 or more presses in a row are exactly equally timed you gun jams or you player falls down or something.

Basically, programmers have to know this is out there and if they care they can certainly block it.

since when would banning for cheating be considered extreme or unlikely?
