Rumor: MS May Debut New Xbox 360 Motion Controller Next WeekPosted by XanTium | May 8 21:53 EST | News Category: Xbox360 |

From kotaku.com:
Rumors about Microsoft entering the waggle market with a specialized, Wii Remote concept swiping controller have been popping up for the better part of a year. Talk of a partnership with Gyration, speculation that Bungie had quashed a proposal for a motion controller tied to Halo 3 and murmurs that Rare was now tasked with leading the waggle wand brigade have been bubbling up frequently. Microsoft and Gyration have both denied or brushed off the rumors, but we've just heard it pop up again.
According to sources that will go unnamed, Microsoft may be showing its Xbox 360 motion controller as early as next week to press, a controller geared specifically for Banjo Kazooie 3 gameplay. In fact, we've heard that select members of the press have already seen the controller--in use on the next Banjo Kazooie title--in action.

Rumor: Even if this is true, no one will care, and the majority of 360 owners (not myself) hate the Wiimote anyway.

Can't wait. The arcade will be busting with new content.

Your opinions are yours and yours only. Unless you happen to personally know the majority of 360 owners, you don't speak for everyone.
If a good game comes out that utilizes the 360 motion controller I certainly won't limit myself because of the narrow minded opinions of others.

I don't speak for everyone, and that was sort of meant sarcastically, since 360 gamers (and PS3) will say the Wiimote sucks, but once there's a Wiimote for the 360, it'll be a completely different story.
-
no one says the wiimote sucks, dont know who your talking too except maybe stupid fanboys. wii games on the other hand or graphics, sure people might say a thing or too that they may not like, but i dont think there is anyone that would have the balls to say the wiimate sucks, especially when put next to the ps3 motion controller(read piece of crap).
if the rumer is true then great there is more interactivity to be had from the 360, if its not true the oh well not really feeling like im missing much anyway as there are only a handfull of games (I feel) that use the wiimote perfectly anyway. tooooooooo many warioware clones on the wii and piss poor ones at that.
-
Dear god, please do not let this be true. I've been ecstatic knowing that BK3 wouldn't be tainted by retarded gimmicks.
-
Yeah I could care less about motion controllers that will probably get used in one game (like the camera which I use several rooms away from the 360 as a web cam on my computer) because lets face it the xbox does not have a good track record for making any optional accessories "must haves". Most games are designed to play the easiest with the good ol two thumbstick controllers (with the exception of one or two specific titles).
-
I welcome it.
and would likely pick one up.
I think it would be great for strategy games....which are a lot better to play on pc's...since a mouse is nearly a must have for strategy games...but a 360 wiimote would be a good replacement.
I hope they dont try to make it work with all the games...that would suck. (and come off really gimmicky)

agreed.
i personally like the Wii remote, but then again it serves a different purpose on a different console than the 360, so I am not sure how well MS could pull this off and what game types it would work well for...
-
I bought the camera expecting a flood of eye-toy style games.
Still waiting.
Unless MS has a *games* strategy to back this think up, it will be dead in the water.
-
I think it's great! And if I can use it on my PC too then hellz yea!

I love the camera. There is nothing better than getting naked and sitting in front of the camera playing uno on a friday night.

ok... tell me what games would be "FUN" to use with this new gadget... unless they come out with some cool bowling, tennis etc. driving and shooting games on the 360 is just not right without a controller.. NOT some wii wannabe hand remote.

Bowling Games!!!!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

This is a stupid idea. Complete waste of money. If I want a "wii-like" experience, I'll just go play my actual Nintendo Wii.
-
We can't let them get away with this.

Why? Are you going to lose sleep and stay up late worrying because someone may be selling a product you don't even have to buy? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif)
There are Dance Pads, Guitars, Drums, Microphones, and Light gun controllers for the 360 why does a Motion Controller sudden draw such a irrational response from some people? It's obsurd.
