A 47 can never replace a 78 or 79 because it does not support anti piracy v2.5. Also there is no way to make a v47 work with 78 or 79 firmware. I guess the hardware itself must not be the same.

You must replace your drive with a ap2.5 supporting drive.

So your options are

Hitachi 78/79
Ben Q
Lite-on

You bricked it by not following exact instructions. Hitachi 78/79 uses ram upload.  Its recoverable. I could recover it. If you have the orig key.

did you play the unlock cd?

youre bricked and cannot continue without recovery. You have to take the flash chip out and put in external flasher.

You didnt flash back to stock before you tried to upgrade. you're supposed to revert to stock before any additional upgrade. Youre bricked.
