Turns out after wasting 3 hours, the drive was actually whipped straight out of an xbox and was infact spoofed!
The only thing I hadn't tried (because I'd assumed the drive to be stock) was the activate.iso disc!
This is a Wow 64 process running on 2 x 64 bit CPUs
