update to latest firmware 2.0 then put monkey island back in to finish update
good chance the drive is a 02510C now as well

you mean update the dvd rom again i think i have lt+ on it now but look at the link this is what i see every time i switch it on

also i just tryed to install update via usb and it still failed from here http://support.xbox..../system-updates

you have to update from usb using the same update that failed.  use update spy to download various usb updates to try.

what is update spy (i would like to download a few updates)

as i had a 360 the other day thay was a pain to get back to life

You should be able to just copy the $SystemUpdate folder from the root of the Monkey Island disc to a USB stick and finish the update with that.

ive reflashed the drive back to stock and it still wont update ive aslo just done as u said got the update folder from the iso and it still wont work just getting the message system update stopped as in the pic?

You need to flash to 2.0 and then try to update from the disc again.

normaly this is the case above

but i had one the other day from someone ,that put a disc in and i tryed everything (i think it was a kinect game gun stringer)
it wouldnt update with the 13599 usb update it wouldnt update from fifa 12 13599 update or gun stringer
i ended up reflashing loads of times with the correct lt +2.0 for liteon 0251 , even stock then trying the usb flash
then i reflashed with an old origonal stock backup firmware then manualy selecting the 0251 liteon firmware
it finaly took the rest of the update from gun stringer after about 2 hours

normaly i just put fifa disc in and then reflash with new lT+ 2.0 then put fifa back in then all is usualy ok

by the way where or what is update spy

ok after getting some1 on jungle flasher to remote they ending up reflashing my drive like 6times usb updates failed then it acepted 1st update then reflashed downgraded upgraded reflush 3hrs later the xbox is back up with the xbox logo and i have menus etc working again .NOW it wont read any discs just keeps saying open tray lol so im greatfull that it back in this state but think il ask again some to remote 2mora hopefully get it working proper again any ideas any1??
