Title: Transfering Dvd Drives
Post by: abbadon on September 29, 2011, 04:11:00 AM
I have an old 360 from 4 years back that worked well with the old TS drive flashed until RROD, and all attemped RROD fixes failed.  I'm assuming the drive is locked to the MB so I can't just swap it in another box, right?  I've been considering getting a used box on off over the last few years and swapping keys or such but not sure how much of a PITA I'm asking for.

Any suggestions what to do with it all before the trash heap? I'm not real into modding like I used to. Been over 5 years since I visited "The Usual Places".  Unless there has been a major developement like a softmod or hardware dongle...

p.s. I could care less about online.  I NEVER go online with something like this.

Well, you could sell the drive on ebay for $15-$20 for a start. The drive is not locked to any particular Xbox 360, but you will have to flash the DVD key of the Xbox 360 it is going in and the Xbox 360 it's going in will have to originally have had that drive model inside it...Otherwise you will have to "spoof" the drive. Go a search for that term and read up, it's quite simple.
