Title: Fried Pad 101
Post by: magnani on March 26, 2011, 11:50:00 PM
I messed up 101 pad somewhere between cutting too much (did the single v cut rather than the two parallel cuts like I realize now I should have) and soldering. after pad popped off I tried to use exacto to dig into the board carefully to get to it inside..... no luck, there is not enough surface area in there to get the solder to stick. So then I saw a pic of alternate point to solder 101 on other side(chip side) well, it was under that Super hard plastic like glue around the chip and while trying to get that removed to get to it, the tiny little resistor(I'm guessing it was a resistor that is near microscopic) came off the board and went flying (no way I could find it in a million years). SO...... I am feeling like I am completely screwed.... am I right? or does someone know what that resistor (or whatever it is ) is and if I could get a larger normal size one from radio shack or somewhere to replace it and/or if there is some solution? Here is the pic I found showing the alternate P101. The little component circled at location P101 is what went flying.(IMG:http://acidmods.com/shop/prodimage/Buttom.JPG)

is that picture your board or someone elses?  a top and bottom pic of your board will be needed to give you accurate advise.
