Title: Nme 2.0 Problem
Post by: sean_potter5 on February 24, 2011, 09:33:00 PM
Hello I have a NME 2.0 chip installed in my xbox 360. Today i updated it to the new dashboard and now none of the newer games will not load i get unreadable disc. I have looked around and found that its due to AP25 but theres no guides on how to patch NME games for AP25. Any input would be great or am i screwed and just have to buy a new xbox.

sad to say..i love those chips..but with the AP 2.5 once you patch the game with the AP 2.5 patch, it can only work with the LT+ and it won't work for NME systems even if you patch the game for it to play with the NME chip

well would it be better to buy a new chipped Xbox(480 bucks) or desolder the chip then flash my Ben-Q and i would have to agree it's old but it worked up until now.

If you desolder and flash the benq, then you'll have to rerip all your nme backups and reburn

unless he uses it offline, he don't need to, just pop it in and play

Yup toss the chip in the bin and flash with the latest LT+ and your problems are solved.

I had a feeling back when those chips was being sold that there would be some type of issue like this that would pop up at some point. One of the reason I always advised against using them.

i actually had to pull one out for a guy the other day.  now that his drive is flashed, he is good to go.  he even let me keep the chip for my collection of 360 antiques.

I was always under the impression that nme patched games wouldn't run on firmware modded drives.
Maybe that was only with older stealthing ixtreme

They probably wouldn't before LT. IX had requirements that the backup must be proper stealth to boot. This was removed in LT.

You were supposed to use LT+ 1.1 (plus)

the distinction you are not noticing is LT+(with a plus) vs (plain)LT

LT+ is the later release

yea chips were always a waste.  Especially when chip cost $ and firmware is pretty much free if you got most of the right equipment.

set abgx to autofix lvl 3 and it downloads the patches as needed.
make sure the end result in the status is all green, that's all you need to do before burn
