I have posted this on another forum and in order to read it correctly I combined the posts into the order that they are supposed to be in.
First Post:
I have 2 xboxes from a friend. One does not power on, but has a good dvd drive (93450C).
The other one powers on but the dvd drive is weak (74850C). If I inject the key and put the 9 series
lite-on drive into the xbox that originally had a 7 series lite-on, will he be okay for live?
(He also wants LT+). I just want to tell him if it will work or not.
Second Post
I took the 7 series drive, MRA and dumped they OFW.
Then I did the same to the 9 series drive.
I then proceeded to obtain the stock 7 and 9 series firmwares.
I then swapped the drive keys between them, saved them also.
I put the stock (swapped keys) firmwares back on both drives, putting the 7 series drive aside.
Then I took the 9 series OFW with the 7 series key inside it and made it into LT+ 1.1.
Finally, I flashed the 9 series drive with LT+ 1.1 that has the 7 series key inside it.
Did I do this correct or should I have spoofed (C4eva says spoofing is detectable on current dash)
The guy says he will not use live, but I would like to know if my methods were correct for
future reference.
Third Post:
Found out the reason the newer xbox wouldn't turn on - the usb ports were broken. Fixed those
for now and it turned on. Now for testing.
Picked up the 7 series drive, flashed it with the key from the 9 series drive and LT+ 1.1.
Both consoles with swapped drives play ap 2.5 games just fine. Neither have been online as of
yet.
Very confused though... Am I supposed to be using the firmware version that originated from the
drive or from the xbox's original drive?
Should I be putting the 9 series firmware on the 7 series drive and vice versa, or is everything
I have done correct?
Any help would be appreciated. Thank You.

The pcb's are the exact same hardware, so you can flash them with either firmwares.
7 series firmware on the drive that's being used in the console that needs a 7 series,
and 9 series in the one that needs a 9.
Just fyi, this is considered a n00bie forum topic.
