Nope.... done 2 hitachi's this month a 47 & 79.
-
I have a couple that aren't. Also have a Sammy drive box from 2006.
-
theres seriously a website that logs when this dude speaks..... awesome.
lets setup a "buy c4eva a beer" website, where we can just open up a tab at his local bar or pub and he can just walk in whenever he wants saying "beer me dude"
done deal, very cool, dude definitely deserves it

[c4eva] *********, no, ssv1 fine
The same as this person, I was confused by c4eva's earlier comments into thinking SSv1 would fail. I believe the comment was Kreon=Fail. Now I can only assume that meant ap25 games, since that was the topic of the post. I am glad to hear SSv1 is fine. I still have a bunch of SSv1 from a long time ago. Not to mention all the games that only verify with SSv1. c4eva=Demigod

c4evaspeaks.com, LOL at that, what a legend idea
-
Best. Idea. Ever.
-
LOL @ c4espeaks.com that's freakin great.
-
LOL whoever created that site is legend!
I'm guessing if c4 only says "Umm... wat." on the site it'll show "c4eva Spoke! (XXXX-XX-XX)" like it's a huge announcement
-
I'm buying you a custom made cape c4e, because your my god damn hero!
-
Man am I glad to see that He's working on the slim drives now:) After having my third console recently die on me I couldn't buy another one of the same design. Can't wait to see how that works out.

Fair enough.

Excellent news that LT+ is coming for Hitachi soon, I honestly thought they'd given up on them.
Funny that this happens right after I order a Jasper JTag though

My (over 3 year old) Falcon with 79FL is still going strong, never had a single problem with it
Also, Hitachi's are extremely easy to flash yourself, you literally just need a SATA cable and Jungleflasher (plus the unlock CD for the 79) to do them, so maybe that's why

Update from C4Eva via http://c4evaspeaks.c...-2010-12-19-fw/

Good work for C4Eva

now onto the next Hitachi!
What "next" Hitachi? He needs to get S drives done next, unless you mean the 360 S Hitachi drive. The fw he's testing/releasing is for all "fat" Hitachi's. Any progress on the new S drives? I heard it was coming before Christmas then nothing.
-
No one ever said slim drives were coming before Christmas. The report was LT+ was coming before Christmas. No ETA on slim drives.
-
slim drives on christmas day..........ps im joking before the drama queens start demanding sources
but seems like the kinda think that "should" happen
-
Just would be nice to know if its coming this year. Thats all. No one asks exact date, just let people know if its coming this or next year.
-
Will this LT+ firmware be only for hitachi revisions 78 and 79 (the ones that capable of reading AP25) or for all revisions?
-
Yes. That question has been covered again and again. Only 78/79 has been discussed so far. Any other firmware for Hitachis has not been announced for release. If new firmware is released for other revisions it will be announced, but don't hold your breath.

So basically ix1.51 for earlier hitachi (non AP25) revisions performs same way as new LT+ as far as booting games and passing current checks on live? Or is it not safe for live?
-
iXtreme 1.51 for Hitachis is not considered "LIVE-safe", but it's the newest firmware presently available for Hitachis. If a drive/OSIG combo doesn't support AP2.5, backups of AP2.5 games should work just fine.
-
if its not "considered" live safe then why is it the current recommended fw listed on this site's sticky topic?
-
Anyone have an idea if I will be able to flash my Hitachi 78 to this LT+, and then spoof it to LiteOn?
Yes, I know "there is no point in spoofing because it will be detected".
The thing is, I am banned from Live. The stock drive in this 360 was a LiteOn but it died and so I had to replace it with the Hitachi from my older RROD 360. Right now, I cannot boot games like Assassin's Creed Brotherhood because, apparently, it expects AP25 info from the Liteon my drive is spoofed as, but of course the Hitachi cannot provide it.
-
QUOTE(angrykid @ Dec 21 2010, 07:40 AM)

Because it's the newest and most advanced firmware. Firmware is never considered "safe" for LIVE. If you flash your drive, you will eventually get banned. If newer firmware is released the recommended firmware will be changed.

If your drive was originally liteon why not buy the same liteon drive and flash this with LT +

Well, obviously I don't want to shell out any money if I don't have to.

Get your facts right. See the BOLD?
Hitachi IN FINAL TESTING,
RELEASE SOON
(weekend release was
delayed due to some
code improvements)
versions 78/79 for AP2.5
versions 59 and lower do not have AP2.5, but have some changes to ensure they conform to LT+ standards
-
Keep things respectful or you could find yourself on vacation.
I quote from the Team Xecuter site as referenced on the X-S front page:
QUOTE
Plus after much work and heavy testing, C4E has finished the LT+ for Hitachi 78 and 79 and it is confirmed that they now boot AP25 backups ! We are currently testing and hope to announce the official release shortly. There are also plans to make LT firmware for the older Hitachi drives but without Ap25 as its not required. LT+ for Slims is the priority at the moment. FYI iXtreme 1.51 still works just fine with AP25 (many are still using the older Hitachis on XBL however we cant guarantee that it is XBL safe so use at your own risk).
Only Hitachi 78/79 have been announced. LT+ for slims is higher priority than older Hitachi drives. Older Hitachis will come eventually, but they're not highest on the to-do list.
Until I see official confirmation from someone involved in the project (like OggyUK, etc.) that other Hitachi drives are in progress, I stand by my statement. Granted, something might have changed since the last official update, but I will wait until official confirmation before giving in to rumours.

Oh come the f on guys. Semantics.

Mine is rockin like a champ too. Well, my first 05 system overheated a couple times and then I ditched it. But my 07 Xenon Hitachi 78 won't die. Thou I did upgrade the GPU heatsink and apply Arctic Silver 5, as a safety precaution and my living room is always cool, because hot sweaty rooms are disgusting.
