Yes read about it in one of the (C4Eva) threads, I posted that almost a month ago(and a couple of times since) ... Sammys and Hitachis will not likely be usable as 0800 anymore either (But you never know C4eva is a bit of a wiz, but I doubt it's possible)

Happy about what? To me, C4eva didn't say an xbox already flagged (for ban) by trying to play an AP2.5 backup, will have the flag removed. If someone has tried an AP2.5 backup on the new dash, there's nothing C4eva can do to revert a possible flag (for ban), as far as I know.

If you have a backup of your nand before the ban flag was placed you could always reflash (but it has to be on the same dash version your currently using etc).

I thought the idea behind LT+ was for slims. I think he should forget about the thousands of users with old xbox's and concentrate on the minority of us with slims lol

Am only joking, the guy is a genius. He said on irc that it would be here for christmas and he has obviously stated that it wont be long for fats. But perhaps someone could ask him to clarify if slim will be here before christmas.

I appreciate that these things take time, and I am patient. But perhaps just a little insight. :-)

Hi,
My console was flashed to LT by another guy and I received from him 3 files:
- Lite-OFW.bin
- Lite_CFW.bin
- Key.bin
So I would need to open as a soource firmware my Lite-OFW.bin file?
Is any hardware needed apart Via SATA controller and SATA cable?
What does that mean "from DB as source"? My console was flashed originally not from my PC.. so I have no DB. Am I OK?

Theres no check initiated at time of update on the dash?
I will probably just play paranoid and stay offline till new LT, flash stock, update, reflash

i know c4eva said that Samsung 360's don't support AP2.5 but is there anything else at play on games that use AP2.5 like NFS: Hot Pursuit?...

...i ask mostly because i am wondering if i made a backup of the NFS:HP disc and since it appears to require the new dashboard would i have any issues running it offline on my Samsung system running newest LT firmware for it?

and would i possibly get flagged for a ban by using it offline?

i am just looking for confirmation before i try anything as i am currently on v9199 dashboard using Samsung LT1.0 firmware on my 360 with a Samsung drive. (the 360 has not been on xbox live at all since about 2 weeks prior to Forza3's release. and my 'secdata is clean' according to Xval)

A little off topic, but as you mentioned it...

I've always used the power from the 360 I am flashing the drive on, is there any reason not to do this? The 360 is not banned etc. and has clean SecData.
If it's best not to use the 360 being flashed, I do have an old RRoD I could use instead.

No, you would not get flagged for playing it offline.

As for AP2.5 in general, it should be fine as you have a Samsung.

I honestly do not know if it makes any difference in the long run, but this was the process I used to update:

1) Flashed back to the original firmware (using JungleFlasher)
2) Updated the dash (via Xbox live, as my console is not banned. USB update would work fine too).
3) Flashed drive back to iXtreme (on my Elite /w Hitachi) and have had no problems with AP2.5 games.

No idea if flashing back to the original firmware makes any difference during dash updates, but i'd rather be safe than sorry.
Note: This was on an unbanned console, that has never been online with modified firmware.

It has been mentioned that when the data cable is not connect to drive when the 360 is powered on it makes a record of it in a file in the nand. Its a pre-caution many others and I take in case they decided to ban on that specific case.

But to argue against my point it would do the same during a RROD repair (w/ removed drive) by anybody (third party) not aware of this and having no intentions of using backups.

So how to safely power the DVD drive without turning on the Xbox? Is it possible to use the Molex power cable from the PC? I assume some adapter is needed Molex->Xbox_Liteon_Power_Connector ? Right?

If I were you I would update to the new dashboard with almost no worries. I assume c4eva won't bother with LT+ for Samsungs (I don't see the advantage), so if you don't update the dash you will never be able to play any games which require it.

No, the best way to do it would be to use 0800 firmware, not Kreon.
Kreon only rips SSv1, 0800 firmware rips SSv2.

If you're using a Kreon drive then you should definitely run any rips though ABGX360 to update it to SSv2.

When SSv3 is used, a new 0800 firmware release will be needed to properly rip it from games.

Hope this clears that up for you.

To me it sounds like as long as you dump just the game data you can run it through abgx and it will be able to patch the files needed to make it SSv3. This would be good as i do not have a 2nd xbox drive to use with the 0800 firmware!

That's how I fixed it actually, only I boiled some hot water in a tea kettle, poured it into a cup and placed the belt in there for a minute or so. Worked perfectly.

To be honest, if you have a dedicated 0800 then you don't really have any use for the Kreon anymore.

Commodore himself said later, not sure how much more official you would want it to be.

The slim drive is not the number 1 priority anymore. It was a couple of months ago but it is going to need to wait now. Shouldn't be too long though as Xecuter are no doubt screaming to get their paws into that market.

I was just asking because it's something handy, particularly for people like me who only have the one DVD drive capable of ripping it (the 360 drive itself). Since with AP2.5 I will be forced to upgrade now (up until now I have used Ixtreme 1.6 and patched my games since being banned).

Plus being able to boot without certain restrictions is useful, especially since I have no care for stealth firmware as long as the games boot.

For everyone saying I'll just use ABGX to patch ssv3 you need to realize that the ABGX database uses people to get those rips and if those people don't have 0800 firmware to get ssv3 then you won't be able to get crap.

I wouldn't make backups for now until that new FW is released period... I will also guess that samsungs can no longer be used as 0800 drives unless C4E is going to inject the ap2.5 code inside the 0800 firmware to do ssv3 ripping.

Anyways, can we start banning all those who ask "Am i banned", etc? and maybe create a separate abgx forum? I remember when this section was used for "technical" discussion.

So it seems unlucky Hitachi 78/79 users like me are out of luck once again.

I've have been doing some reading and it seems it won't work if you replace the drive with a non AP2.5 capable drive such as a Sammy if the Xbox was born with a AP2.5 capable drive.
But what if I was to replace my 79FL with a spare LiteOn drive flashed with LT+ (once it's out) ?

I know I would have to block XBLive on my 360 as it's unsafe, but what really matters is if that would fix the "unreadable disc" error ?

We already know how to flash the first 360 slim liteon drive. Tarablinda, it is a all software solution. No details on the second version of the 360s drive. I read the second one is not even flashable. If that is true then my tutorial on swaping out lite-on drive boards might be very useful after all.

Not untill you try to hack into it. But fortunately they are still uncommon. Increasing by the time though. They appeared with kinect, so good chance those before kinect are 935.

As for the first Benq and Lite-On, then Slims, it is possible, but that transcript was from and earlier conversation. He later said, when asked about Hitachi 78/79, "maybe".
Point is that at the beginning it was thought that earlier Hitachi and all Samsung could play with no problems AP2.5 games, but actually it's all a hit or miss, since a very large part of Samsung, even though they wont flag the console, still wont play the game.
I'm sure c4eva will do something about those drive too.

I just want to say thanks to C4eva and the rest who makes all of this possible. He's been doing this for years and is a master of his craft, so to show some support i donated $7 and i think everybody who enjoy playing their backups should do the same. On another note, we all should know by now that every year around this time we should take precautions when updating our system and wait for c4eva to work his magic. i can live without xbox live for 2 months (while waiting for new firmware) out of a 12 month year. By the way, in the Italian Xbox community it's been found a method to update to the kinect dash without the AP2.5 protection. Those who tried say it works.

So, based on what u've said, samsung drives do need a new firmware, or some kind of update! if I can play the original...

Unfortunately yes, since most of them cant play AP2.5 games, in spite of not having the AP2.5 protection within themselves.

I guess the same is about Samsung.

I am quite baffled by these reports. As far as I have read, there is no 'hit and miss' situation regarding a drive that is incapable of responding to an AP2.5 request. Please could someone who fully understands it explain why people are now saying that some Samsungs work and some don't.

I can only assume that the people who say their Samsung drive won't play AP2.5 titles have got a spoofed drive - i.e. their console originally shipped with a drive capable of AP2.5 (and this fact is stored in the NAND), but it was swapped for one which isn't.

Alternatively, certain original Samsung FW revisions (was there even more than one revision?) are indeed capable of AP2.5.

I simply can't play it...and I'm not flagged yet...however, a year ago I needed to change my drive because the other one broke, and I think the broken one was hitachi, and I bought a samsung drive to replace it...Is that the problem? I don't think so

My v1 Xenon was stuck on a System Update Stopped loop.

Kinect Beta Dashboard (2.0.12416.0) on USB Stick successfully updated.

ACB on MS28 iXtreme 1.5 with Activate DVD works just fine. Did not prompt to update.

Update: Only worked in with Offline Profile, no HDD just a Memory Unit. Installed to HDD with Banned XboxLive Account Profile and it prompts to do update. From other posts and italian scene, Sports Update must be applied after beta in order to bypas AP 2.5 prompt.

One of my xboxes came with a Samsung MS28 drive, got banned about a year ago from live but right now It's on the latest kinect dash with Xtreme 5.3c firmware (which should be able to play any wave without the need for an activation disk).

I've yet to try and launch a AP2.5 game on it, but as soon as I do I will report here. Hopefully it'll work.

Don't really know if this is a dumb question, but the firmware for slim is coming after the liteons.. I didn't know that slim could be hacked yet? I mean i ahve of course seen the videos from team executer or c4e or whoever made it. But i didn't know that the way of extracting the key etc was published yet?

If you have a jtagged xbox, the newest freeboot should patch out the OSIG in the kv. Thats what I understand from the fbuild0.11 readme.

so basically you could run any AP25 game with your drive or someone elses drive.

But I'm not sure...tomorrow i'll run some more tests...I have samsung LT, gonna change it to 1.6 or 1.61 and try to make AC:B work, without losing the ability of playing recent games without AP2.5 (black ops, force unleashed,...)

What can I say... the method to bypass AP2.5 protection that I was talking about earlier, already spread through XBOX360iso, and people are confirming it really works.
Props to Luigi Marconi of ixtrememod.wordpress for discovering this.
It's a sequence of updates of the dash, that install the kinect dash without any AP2.5 check, and works with any DVD drive.

Yes, there's an english translation already.
I'm not sure where to post it. But it works 100%. Tested already by hundreds. You need to have not updated to the kinect dash (not even the beta).

i am pretty sure he meant that the 0800 firmware, which is used to rip games using a Samsung MS25/MS28 drive, currently does not support ripping the games with the proper SS for AP2.5.

so his 'not to begin with' might suggest that down the road he might make a firmware for the drive that allows proper ripping of AP2.5 games.

p.s. currently if your running LT v1.0 on a Samsung system you CAN use AP2.5 games. i am running the new need 4 speed hot pursuit and it runs fine (it forces the update to play it to) on my Samsung system. so at least as far as offline use your safe on a Samsung system with newest dashboard.

don't quote me but i am pretty sure the Call of Duty: Black Ops is not even a AP2.5 game. which means it should work fine on all systems. (i.e. a backup copy of the game will work fine)

but my point is... if your XBox360 has a Samsung drive in it with current LT v1.0 firmware, you can use AP2.5 games on the newest dashboard and they will load up perfectly fine since c4eva said Samsung systems DO NOT support AP2.5 which means Microsoft can't enforce AP2.5 on Samsung systems.... which basically means you can run ALL backup games (AP2.5 or stuff from the past) on your XBox360 if you got LT v1.0 firmware on your Samsung drive.

p.s. with the current ABGX360 v1.0.3 application you can run the ISO file through it and it will say if the game is AP2.5 or not if you want to be sure (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (but if you got a Samsung system with LT v1.0 firmware on it you have NOTHING to worry about at least as far as offline use is concerned as ALL games will load up on it with current LT v1.0 firmware)

EDIT: according to the post below mine... it appears that ABGX360 v1.0.3 is not completely reliable for detecting AP2.5. but if you got a Samsung system it does not matter anyways as all games will work on it.

lol you mis-understood me when i said that... when i said "don't quote me" i did not mean that you can't quote me in this thread. lol

yes, that's the problem. you can't spoof (i.e. change drives) in the XBox360 anymore on newest dashboard.

so if you originally had a Hitachi v79. you need to have a Hitachi v79 in it for it to work with newest dashboard. but like i say i don't know specifics on which Hitachi drives support AP2.5 and which ones don't. so maybe someone else can comment on that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

so basically for example... "IF" your original drive was a Hitachi v79 drive and that DOES support AP2.5 your pretty much s**t out of luck unless c4eva decides to make firmware for those.

but i do believe c4eva said that some Hitachi's don't support AP2.5 either but i don't know exactly which ones. so basically even if you put your original Hitachi drive back in. you pretty much have to hope it's not one of the ones that DOES support AP2.5 otherwise you might be out of luck for quite a while as i suspect c4eva might never make a firmware for Hitachi's since they are old and i suspect most people are not using them anymore. but even if he does make it i suspect it will be several months down the road before he does it.

on a side note: the only thing i don't think is clear so far is that if current properly patches backups with abgx360 would be fine on XBox Live or not since if it don't support any form of AP2.5 you would think Samsung systems with properly patched games would be safe on live. but like i say i am only speculating here and in general i don't go on live with my Samsung system as the last time i was connected to live was at least 2 weeks prior to Forza 3's release date.

well if your original drive was a Samsung then it's not spoofing simply because what i read that hardware wise the Samsung is all the same regardless of MS25 or MS28 as it's just firmware. so i would assume that you would never really be spoofing.

but you can check your current Samsung firmware if you want... just dump it with Jungle Flasher etc and check what the drive ID etc is as that will show what the original drive was in the system.

if it shows anything related to Hitachi (or anything else besides Samsung) then you definitely spoofed the drive.

yeah from the looks of things that might be your best option especially a system with Liteon or BenQ (Liteon is probably best option since they seem to be the systems c4eva updates first when new firmware is made) in it as it appears c4eva said those are getting LT+ first and then the new Slim 360's.

like i say, spoofing is spoofing.

you cannot change out the original drive with anything else besides the same exact model otherwise it's considered spoofing.

so basically if your system originally came with say a Hitachi v79. that's the ONLY drive you can use it in otherwise you will be spoofing.

No. because apparently the new dashboard (which came out Nov 1st 2010) will detect spoofing and stop backups from working.

Yes you can play non-AP2.5 games fine on current v9199 (or older) dashboard(s).

but like i was saying if your fairly sure you had a Hitachi in that system odds are that's why the AP2.5 games are not working.

and you can be sure by dumping the current firmware inside the Samsung drive and checking it inside Jungle Flasher as i believe it will show you if the firmware is spoofed as a Hitachi (or other drive) or not.

I just updated to 12611 via USB pendrive and both Fable III & NFS Hot Pursuit works without a hitch.

My 360 is a v3 Falcon and has a Hitachi 79FL drive flashed with ix1.51

This is really confusing as some members here reported that AP2.5 games is a no go with 78/79 drives.
Anyway, it works so I'm happy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I have an old xbox which started life with an Hitachi 47. that drive broke and i replaced with benq ages ago. The console has been updated to new dash and I have NOT run any AP2.5 games on it. So clean xval.

If I put an Hitachi 47 back into the console will I be ok with AP2.5?

Came back from testing solutions...no luck!

Samsung with 1.51, 1.6 and 1.61, even with active.iso, didn't work...I spoofed my console from a Lite-On to a samsung...

So now my deal is this: I'm spoofing it to a Benq, and waiting for LT+...that will work for sure...what do you think?

samsung drives, spoofed ones, are screwed...sell those and buy a Benq or a Lite-On...

Does this mean that all my current games will need to be re-burnt with the ap25 check made by agbx?
i have lots of games and dont really want to re burn them all... maybe they will be fine if i dont update them?
i know fallout new vegas and mafia 2 have both asked me to update them recently but im not sure what the update is.
mafia 2 really needs an update i cant even play without falling through the ground.

Older SSV2 burnt games are fine.. the new AP2.5 games will require you to burn them with SSV3 patching.

AP2.5 games will require:

LT+ firmware AND SSV3 patched backups

NON ap2.5 games will continue to require ssv2 patched backups

It is possible that updates could cause ssv3 to become mandatory for all backups but it hasnt happened yet and it probably wont happen at all. We never know what new updates will bring. As for right now we know that SSV2 with non-AP25 games or OK and new games will need the new FW and SSV3 patch

I am posting this regarding spoofed drives and playing newer game backups like Need for Speed Hot Pursuit.

I have an older Xbox 360 from April 2006. It had a Samsung drive in it originally.
The laser burned out on the drive so I bought a new BenQ drive from a site off the Internet and then spoofed that drive as a Samsung using the key for the old Samsung drive. The BenQ has the newest xtreme LT 1.2 firmware.

I am able to play backups for Fable 3, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and Need for Speed Hot Pursuit without a problem. I am on the newest dashboard since Assassin's Creed forced me to update it before I could play it.

So, apparently you can play these newer games on an Xbox which originally had a Samsung drive in it even if you install a different drive. As long as that newer drive is spoofed as the original Samsung.

Hope that helps someone out.

I am sorry if this was asked before, but I have looked and looked and have not found a specific answer to my question.. I have a banned xbox (Ben-q) lt ver 1.2. I only use this one for backups and have a untouched xbox for online play only. Can the banned xbox that is never online be stoped from playing backups (ap2.5 or old games) by just updating dash through game or USB? Or by the game itself doing the ap2.5 check? So in a nut shell does it really matter how I get the game to work, if I'm banned already.

I flashed my xbox few months back.
I dont know what drive or what firmware version i have, may be ixtreme
i dont have my original files.
When i flashed it, the process was simple I remember I didnt needed probe or soldering or any hardware modifications.

someone told me that i will need to do a mra hack and get original key.

Q 1. So to do a MRA hack on this, I will need to do some hardware stuff like taking bolts out of motherboard or cutting it or soldering it?

Q 2. I am not sure what was the version of FW which I installed, so I need to know this version to re-flash the xbox to LT+?

Q 3. I am not sure which drive I have. May be BenQ or liteon or hitachi or samsung. So whenever LT+ comes out, it is coming out for all drives, correct?

So are you saying there is a slight chance that my kinect bundled slim is not 0225? I thought most people were in agreement that all the new kinect slims were 0225.

Is there any way to tell which one you have without voiding the warranty?

Yeah its a laser issue. It just cant read the backups. Im not that fussed. It was just an old rrod that I had lying about. Thought I'd fix it to see me through until everything else is sorted. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Friend of mine have a Hitachi-drive, not 79, but the one before that (don't exactly remember the model..)
As far as we've read, he might have a drive unspported by AP25, but we don't dare to try, just in CASE we insert AC:B or NFS into the drive, and his 360 gets flagged.

Is there a close to 100% certain way to tell that your drive supports AP25 or not, without getting it flagged?

Also; do we have to update the dash to Kinect? Is there any special way to do it, or can we just install from i.e. AC:B ?

To the LT+ stuff; He says "maybe" about releasing a Hitachi-version of it? It might not come at all?

For the love of GOD! I honestly see two questions constantly so I felt the need to sum up. From what we know C4EVA has said:

When it comes to spoofing your Drive:

YOU CANNOT HAVE A SPOOFED DRIVE ON THE NEW DASH!!! Since they know Samsungs do not have AP2.5, they added a drive check in the dashboard!

When it comes to Playing originals on the new dash:

THEY ARE ALL FINE!!! Microsoft wants you to buy games so they will not stop you from playing them. The only way you will be marked for ban is if you play a BACK UP of Fable 3, ACB, or NFS. THE ORIGINALS ARE FINE!!!

Jungleflasher will be able to read your drive key and drive type.
Then flash it with LT+ when its out.

Not hard question, but this isn't really the place for them

Anyway, here u go
IF the drive is flashed with ixtreme firmware, you can do the "read dummy from ixtreme" method in JF to get the key and update (no tools needed)
IF you flashed the drive with LT (currently newest) firmware, then you will need to do the MRA method to obtain the key (soldering, probev2 or lt-switch)

LT+ comes for Lite-on (fat) and BenQ
Slim to follow, and (most likely) not for samsung and hitach

You can find out what DVD drive you have (you dont need to open the console. Just check the shape of the DVD tray, and then you might want to check the color of the wires. There are tons on tut, if you google it).

Knowing when you flashed the drive, what waves can it read, if it can use the activate boot disc, and what DVD drive you got, you can pretty much make a good guess.

You're missing aswilbourn's point, we know there's a new 0800 coming out.

c4e said the AP2.5 check will be caught "anyway". If this is the case then surely you don't NEED SSV3 so why can't you just use the present 0800 to rip discs?

Maybe the old 0800 will be fine for offline to just fool the dash when LT+ hits but maybe the non SSV3 disc won't give the correct responses back to XBL...

1) I have a Old-style elite with a LiteOn drive that could be dumped / flashed directly from my pc, without the need for that usb thingy.

2) It is running either iXtreme 1.61 or LT 1.1 - I'm not 100% sure, as all of my notes on what I did are at home.

3) I have NOT updated my console with the latest system update (the Kinect Dash update I believe).

4) I have NOT played Fable III or Assassins Creed: Brotherhood yet on that console.

1) You should also avoid Need for Speed Hot Pursuit

2) Yes, you can safely update to kinect if you really want to, provided you steer clear from those games. But you should also be aware that there's is a tested and working exploit to install the Kinect beta without AP2.5 protection and play any game, no flag, if and only if you still are on the old dash.

3-4) No, you dont need to return to stock, nor you need to when you'll flash LT+

Fable 3 can safely be played on old dash cause old dash doesnt trigger AP2.5 (since it doesnt have it).

No, you dont need a JTag. Actually it's an ordered sequence of 3 updates to the kinect dash from the Kinect games. So it's safe, and it results in installing kinect with no AP2.5

Remember this method only works if you have not updated to the kinect dashboard, but still have the old one (9199) or earlier.

LOL I swear I do not know!
It does work 100% and surely sooner or later MS will release a mandatory dash upgrade, but till then, this is the way to go. Just to get covered till LT+. And I'll keep it even after LT+ will be flashed in my console, and up untill SS3 will be available.

Hey everyone!
I had almost the same questions as sk93 but with a little change. I have the fat box with the liteon that needs the usb extractor thing. It was flashed to 1.61 for about a year ago, then I flashed it myself to LT 1.1 because 1.61 supported to just plug it into my VIA card. Now my question is if there is any possibility to just plug in the drive to my VIA card and update the firm to LT+ from LT 1.1? I'm not sure if LT 1.1 support that. If not i'm really sad :-(.

Unfortunately Tiko maybe right .... as the checks are have something to do with the original harware in the machine .... and reports that back to the console and either flags .. or boots ... All we can do for sure is wait till LT+ comes out and I'm sure there will be detailed instructions on flashing ... what drives are supported ... and on and on .. there seems to be alot of questions on this firmware that hasn't even seen the light of day yet ??

The best way to get it on front page is to make a new thread, think of a really clever but short title for the thread and the instructions you already gave are perfect. Unless there is already a dedicated thread about this.

I am thinking of trying this on a x360 slim that i installed a original lite-on board inside. I sold it to a friend but i might get him to bring it over, serously if this works on a slim with a lo board swap i will be very impressed!

I have seen alot of posts saying that early hitachi drives are safe but i dont know how early. theres no definite list of hitachis that are safe that i have found. im afraid....

From what I know, it should work fine in slims with their original drive, but I think there was one guy who had some problem with spoofed drive in his slim.

Anyway, yes it works also in your drive. Follow the instruction to update to 9199 and start from there.
You can play the games in SS2, since there's no AP2.5 in the beta dash, it wont make any SS3 checks. It's just like Fable 3, that works on the old dash with no problem.

You're not. You will still be able to play downgraded wave games on LT+.

If im unsure of the AP2.5 status of a game can I just put it in system and then just not try to play it if it comes up as play dvd on the dashboard tile?

It worked for me too! Benq drive with iextreme 1.4, game (AC B ) patched for wave 3, working like a charm! Since i don't play on live, this is the perfect solution for me.

They are a new version of Slim. They have this 0225 fw, and not the more common 935. This 0225 is not compatible with iXtreme or LT+, since it's a completely different fw. These console, also, are at the moment unmoddable, since their fw is read only. Steer away from these slims.
They are quite recent and uncommon, but I guess they'll grow in number. Most of them appeared in bundle with kinect, but some also individually sold.

I am a little confused by this. the new release (ap25) of fable 3, and then later saying lt+ will protect you anyway from ap25. does this mean that games will have to be fixed in abgx (or some other way) and reburnt?

I've had a long read through, and I'm guessing that:

1.) AP2.5 games will still require AP2.5 ss to run

2.) LT+ will prevent the drive from attempting to run a game that requests AP2.5 where the ap2.5 ss it isn't included on the disc, for example a title update (that includes ap2.5) on an SSV2 burned game. You'd need to reburn the game with ssv3, but the console wouldn't be flagged by a failed ap2.5 request.

I'd put the above as:

'game inserted'
'before anything else, dvd f/w does a quick check for ap2.5 request:
'if xex or whatever has no ap2.5 request, proceed to load the game as normal, otherwise if it's going to do a request....
'check game disc for ap2.5ss, if 2.5ss doesn't exist, then...
'abort game load'

This is my best interpretation from the c4e chat log.

or you could go with a JTAG unit and forget all the online bullshit... I've got 3 JTAGs and all have large HDD 2.5 drives and all my favorite game titles on them.. Even AC:B and NFS:HP.

Just got me a Kinect unit too which works on JTAG units as well...

main question i have which i am sure is important to many people is...

even if LT+ firmware was released tomorrow for BenQ/Liteon drives etc, it still almost don't matter without a way to rip AP25 games that support the AP25SS (i.e. formerly known as SSv3) which most likely won't be out for a while in my estimation.

so even if they get a Abgx360 application that supports the AP25SS soon it's going to be a semi pain in the butt as you will have to hold off on burning a AP25 backup disc until the database gets updated with your particular game your trying to burn.

so basically my question is... how long does people think it will be before anyone that makes a .dvd/.iso file that it will automatically include the AP25 data for AP25 games to boot up on LT+? (this is key before the LT+ firmware will be much more usefull for people in general)

p.s. because until some sort of 0800 firmware is out that automatically does the required AP25SS ripping from disc, it's almost like the LT+ firmware is semi-useless. (no offense to anyone but i make a legitimate point (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) )

so as you can see even for us offline users what i said is a big deal for those who mostly use there backups offline because in general abgx360 does not matter for us offline users but since AP25SS is REQUIRED to even play offline it's obviously a big deal to ANYONE.

technically i am fine since i got a Samsung but i thought i would as this as i am sure there is alot of users that would like to know my question (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

but the funny thing that contradicts this based on someones comments on here is that you CAN have a spoofed drive but it appears to ONLY WORK if your ORIGINAL DRIVE was one of the ones that does not support AP25 in the first place.

so basically for example... if your system originally has a Samsung drive in it and say it dies and you replace it with a BenQ drive (and use BenQ's v1.2 LT firmware) this supposedly works on new dashboard on Need 4 Speed Hot Pursuit which is a AP25 game.

p.s. i never tried this myself on my Samsung system but according to a post in this thread someone basically said what i just said.

but i suspect it would be possible for MS to check this? (even though apparently right now it works)

Really? I mean I don't know that much about manufacturing, but it seems like after a certain date they would all have it. Has anyone with a kinect bundle actually confirmed that they do not have 0225, or are people just speculating?

I still have my fat, so it doesn't matter that much. I'll just hold on a while for the 0225 thing to get sorted out.

Feel free to laugh at me, cos this might be obvious (but its not making sense to me).

Lets say i want to play Kinect Games (so will need the new dash firmware) and want to play the latest games (the new need for speed, assassins creed brotherhood, Fable 3, etc)....but i do NOT care about playing online at all.

I'm still screwed until a new firmware comes out, correct? (i believe i have a liteon drive in my 360, its def not a samsung. im definitely running ixtreme 1.61 also).

How do we go about updating a 9 series liteon, do we need to undo our repair flash and the repair it again
or it there an easier way since it has already been flashed. Do we just put it in vendor and reflash. A step by step guide for this process would be great as there will be alot of people in this position that won't know what to do.

I've got samsung spoofed as a liteon 7485, I just wonder if I will have to buy exactly the same liteon 7485 or there is no much difference and every other liteon drive for example in 83850 version will work with LT+?

just connect your drive up then run the newest version of JF,Jungle flasher v0.176, it should tell you what revision drive it is under drive info. if you've got your lt+ fw in the firmware folder it will automatically load the correct one as target for you

1) What part of "Supports Benq and Liteon Drives (74850, 83850V1, 83850V2, 93450)" don't you understand?
2) What's a v3 83850c, you talking about the v9?

If your drive is on LT and you haven't got your key/key from DB/OFW etc then the only way of getting it is to MRA ....as you've been told about a thousand times by now.

As long as they are not AP2.5, you wont be flagged. To be safe, make sure they are ssv2.

If you have a disk with ssv1, you have to rip to back to your PC using ImgBurn or a similar program and patch the .iso with ssv2 (ss and dmi) and then reburn it.

Click the small number on the far right (next to "Wave") and download both files.

Patch with: ABGX or S360X V4.0

reburn.

ssv1 isn't necessarily incorrect but ssv2 is the safe way to go if you care about LIVE. Plus, C4E has already mention that kreon rips = fail. ssv1 games are made with kreon drives. kreon drives are still fine for dumping game data, just be sure to patch with ssv2 to be sure your safe.

Hi im new here
now ill explain everything that happened to my xbox

first i wanted to play NFS hot pursuit so i downloaded the game and burned it
when i tried it, it wanted me to update dashboard. i didnt know how it could cuz i was banned from
xbox live long ago, so anyway i accepted it and later when i tried the game it said disc unreadable!!

later i searched over the internet til i found out here that i need to have the original drive in my xbox
and later flash it to lt v1.0 or lt+ or whatever my drive supports.

if i change back to the original and flash it to any of the two firmwares that my drive supports,
will i be able to play the game even if i already updated to latest dash before i flashed it??

i know that the best firmware for the sammy is lt v1.0 and for benq and liteon is lt+.
im not sure about the hitachi

i really need help cuz if hot pursuit doesnt work then it means i cant play any of the new games
