Title: Help 9345 Dvd-rom Acting Crazy!
Post by: faizy11 on March 04, 2010, 12:00:00 PM
hey..

ive flashed many lite-ons using the new method and ive always used the boxddr method and it has always been successful but this drive is a pain in the back side ....

firstly, this drive didnt play nice while flashing.... 22 ohms, 18ohms didnt work and i had to use a 15 ohms resistor which finally gave me 0x72 and i extracted and flashed the drive fine .... but now after rebuilding the traces i cut.. the drive doesnt respond .. i tripple checked the soldering for any shorts or wrongly done soldering but its all good(pictures below) ... but the drive doesnt respond .. so i compare the voltages running through the drive with a working drive and i find that the other 2 locations on the downside of the board have 3,3v running through them which isnt running on this drive i flashed .. so i manually take the 3,3v from the top location and connect it... which makes the drive work, eject and read/flash the firmware fine... but the lens laser stays on and whenever i pop in any dvd ... the lens doesnt read it .... it just says open tray after spinning the disc for about 30 secs.... ive tried spoofing another drive and the console works fine .. ive also tried swapping the mainboard of this drive with another which works fine meaning that the problem lies on the this board somewhere and its not the flash chip i gues because it reads fine when connected via 3,3v manually ...

im literally stuck with this .. anyone knows what the problem could be ? .. ill greatly appreciate any help ... thanks for reading....
