Title: Any Pcb Experts Out There?
Post by: delti90 on March 03, 2010, 12:23:00 AM
Basically I got these two 9 series liteon 360s off of a friend, he completely butchered the drives trying to dump the firmware, I've tried minor repairs, like fixing the traces with conductive ink, but I can't get them to work, is there anybody on the forum (preferably in the usa) that would be willing to let me ship them the drives and repair the pcb for me, and possibly dump the firmware as well? I'll pay whatever so long as it's fair, I don't feel like losing out two free xboxes. Honestly all I really care about is getting the firmware key out of them. I have replacement drives I can use.
If not I'm probably going to end up jtaging the key out of the consoles.

Or if anybody could give me some help with at least dumping the keys that would be great. I'm a decent solderer at best.

the good news is drives in worse condition have been saved.  before the day is over u will find someone who can dump your drive and those pcb's are actually still usable.  best letting someone take over for you, but check this thread, very fixable problems i see on both boards.

If your in the UK, I can repair BOTH of them drives for you, no problem.

The JTAG hack will NOT work with either of the two consoles that the drives came out of....

I'm in the us but I'll mail you the drives anyway of you're able to dump them. You can just do whatever you want with them afterwards. No need to send them back. I only really need the keys/ofw. I was pretty positive the jtag wouldn't work but they both have the right dash so it was worth a try as a last resort. Send me a message with pricing. Unless somebody in the us responds I'll just go with you because it looks like the other guy is in Finland which would be epic to ship to. Hell dude I'll overnight them to get these keys.

Its difficult to speculate just how badly these are damaged from the pictures alone, but I would say that one of these does look like it should be able to be fixed, but the other one looks to have a solder blob shorting a Vcc supply directly to ground, which usually isnt good.

I actually just shipped it to Jaxxyn, really hoping he can get me the ofw.
I've gotta say, I've had this forum account for a few months but am just starting to use it, but I absolutely love the community. There's only one other 360 forum I've used where everybody has been mature about pretty much everything.
