Title: 83850c Bricked? I Have Searched My Arse Off.... Help.
Post by: scotster on January 27, 2010, 10:00:00 AM
I'm pretty sure I have bricked my drive. I can't be 100% sure though as I am relatively new to all this.

Beginning...

I flashed my drive back in November, it is a V1 83850. Obviously the New LT firmware came out so I decided I was going to go down that route. Got the box all split and hooked up to my PC.

I used the latest version of Jungle flasher and got the dummy.bin file with my key on it with no problems. I was reading the guide and going through all the things I had to do without actually doing them when the box cut out (as it does after a certain amount of time), this happened a couple of times... each time closing the drive and forcing me to use the method to eject the tray half open. I was just about ready to get started when for a 3rd time I had to do the half open method.... the drive was completely dead... I got nothing from it.

Is the drive fried?

In jungle flasher I simply get 0X7F when I select the known port of A880. I have also tried booting into dos using a flashpen and running l-o-eras. When I do so and select the port A880 all that happens is i get the message "Status FF7F". I have tried removing the power from the drive numerous times to no avail. When I do power the drive I get absolutely nothing from it, no motor spin nothing.

What do you guys think? Is it a goner? Is there any other information I can provide or any other solutions I can try?

Thanks
