I just purchased a banned unit off E-bay. It doesn't play wave 4 backups ,not even with a activation disk. it has a Ben-q drive in it , and I an going to attempt to update the firmware utilizing the Jungle flasher app.
My question is what firmware do you recommend for my drive, and with this being my first flash. What precaution should I take.
Also,
My PC do not have any SATA ports, but i am considering purchasing a PCI card with the SATA port expansion. Will the PCI card be suffice?
Thanks In Advance

for the firmware to use on the benq. any nonstealth firmware will suffice. i would recommend nonstealth 1.41 rev 4 (SS). A pci - sata card works perfectly, thats what i use. you're gunna want a via 6421 chipset.
Here are two that I've used in the past, both work excellently:

as for precautions... make sure you read the firmware off the drive and save it BEFORE erasing or writing to the drive, otherwise ur gunna end up with a useless drive

So the firmware that you recommended will allow me to play wave 4 back ups without a activation disk correct? The only reason I am asking this is because the unit will already play the lower wave backups ,and that's why I figure that the firmware just needs to be updated
Also,
Since I do not know what firmware the unit was initially flash with , do you foresee that being a issue?
