Title: Bad Flash With Samsung Ms25 Help!
Post by: mcastleberg on November 14, 2009, 08:07:00 AM
Ok guys I've been struggling with this thing for a couple days now and have not been able to come up with a solution.  I flashed my 1.6 Samsung to 1.61 the other day and I'm not sure what I did wrong but afterwards it wouldn't read originals or backups.  Upon attempting a reflash, Jungle Flasher froze up in the process leaving me with no firmware on the drive.  Since then I have been completely unable to finish a flash without JF freezing up.  I have also tried Dosflash and iPrep multiple times.  Dosflash freezes after erasing bank 0 and beginning to write bank 0.  iPrep tells me my drive is in the wrong mode and refuses to continue.  Another weird thing, with JF the writing process generally seems to freeze shortly into writing bank 0 when I use a firmware spoofed with my drive key.  When I use a firmware that has no drive key spoofed it strangely will get all the way into bank 1 and sometimes bank 2...seems like different firmwares had some kind of effect.  Also, I have used 3 different sata cables and 3 different sata ports.  I am using my onboard sata with AMD chipset 785gx.  Any help would be ridiculously appreciated!

most likely... your drivers and portio drivers are installed incorrectly... try deleting them and reinstall them over... this happened to me about 4 months ago... did that and it worked.... good luck.

On an interesting side note, I was able to spoof my old hitachi drive as a samsung and got it working in 5 minutes, easy as can be.
