You could also consider some cooling modifications, such as upgrading the thermal compound on your CPU and GPU, upgrading the exhaust fan to an 80mm, you could also add heat sinks to things like the MCPX or your RAM.
yes and no...
No it doesn't make your xbox any faster
however increasing the life span of your xbox can certainly be considered "performance"
If nothing else I highly recomend throwing a cheap Heat Sink on the MCPX as in a stock Xbox under normal use that is typically the first component to die (usually from heat stress)
My fav is my hdd activity mod using the red led in the eject button - done by connecting an ide pin to one of the leads for that red led. found here. http://xbox-scene.co...es/amberled.php
if I could turn on my xbox with my remote I would be happy.

Anyone else do the ATA100/133 cable mod? Does it have to be a specific cable to fit or can you just use the one that came with your upgraded HDD?
My fav is far and away is the IR remote power on with or without mod.
), upgraded GPU heatsink, and if you can coax the directions out of friendtech, a processor upgrade. A side note, the MCPX does get hot even after 20 mins. of gameplay, depending on how oftem the game reads the DVD, how many controllers are hooked up, network activity, etc. Basically, the more things that chip has to do at once, the hotter it gets. I have an old mac SE/30 and just for kicks I put a heatsink on the Processor, FPU, and graphics chip
, even thought it is unneccesary, it never hurts to cover your bases.
what's the point of upgrading the xbox RAM, i mean I wouldn't think any games would be designed to take advantage of it.
