i dont have the game for it. it was already softmodded and me friend doesnt have game anymore. if it loads up games, u think it culd load up something like autoinstller deluxe 3.0 or slayers 2.6? if i use slayers u think i can just ftp MY c driver from there?

If you backed up the C: drive then you can hotswap to put the files back in.

Or if you have just a laptop then you can use slayers but be very carefull as slayers could make things worst for you.

slayers won't do any good as you can't launch burned discs. you messed up your main system files.

if you still have the linux game saves you could run to the store and buy the exploited game that it was modded with.. or you could go to blockbuster and rent it

Do you have the eeprom that belongs to the Xbox you are fixing?

sounds like you are locking it to another Xbox.

edit** EXACTLY i am locking it onto another xbox! how can i edit this eeprom into making it work!?! OMG i really dont want to buy him a new hdd/mobo

no.

you could Hotswap and then use XBHDM to fix the xbox.

edit: there are guides PINNED in the Exploits Forums

EDIT #2: just thought about it, If you can unlock the HDD (whichyou can since it's locked to your eeprom), you can run a prog called Xplorer 360 or something like that to view the contents of the drive (look for the HDD KEY)

YOUR Epprom + HIS HDD = NEVER EVER GONNA HAPPEN

try the other thing i edited in my other post.

every Xbox has it's own Hdd key and Eeprom (NONE are the same)

When his xbox tries to run it looks to make sure the HDD is locked, if it isn't error #5, If it is LOCKED, but with the wrong eeprom it gives you erro #6. don't know how to better explain it.

but your xbox was working, and you had to use Configmagic to switch eeprom's right?

as for your second question, again NO.

don't buy a new eeprom, read the marriage theory article. You HDD key and eeprom are now "married" and recorded onto XBL's database. So, you must always get a new one of both. ANd on top of that you must get a new XBL account (I'm pretty sure) because I think they now link your eeprom from the 1st time you sign on to xbox live with your gamertag, I don't know.. read the article, It's posted somewhere

READ THE WHOLE THREAD......he's not asking about ANY of that.

He has a problem with an Unlocked Softmodded Xbox.

BTW, did you check that Xplorer 360 thing out?

if the HDD is unlocked, I'm pretty sure you can use it to get the files you need.

also can u tell me the location of the eeprom.bin file if it does work so in windows xp..

hi im the one whos box is borken...

i dont understand how this 360 thing will work when i can run it considering my xbox hd doesnt have windows, how am i supposed to run the program to see what on the hd when there is no other program to run it, or do i have to burn it and then boot it for computer start?...i dont get it!? And secondly isnt this 360 program for the xbox 360?

Xplorer 360 works on both xbox and xbox 360. Read the readme it should tell you how to boot the program.
But my guess is you need to burn it as a disk and boot it that way.

ok say we did get this xplorer 360 to work and we were able to c the contents of his xbox hd, how are we supposed to get his eeprom because we never did the evox-backup eeprom thing. is it hidden in c/e drive somewhere?

thx

edit**  also xplorer 360 is a stand alone program

Depends on where you live. It might be some around $10 (US currency) up to $30 or something like that. Yes and some are easy to install now, no need to solder either.

A modchip does what a softmod does. But each one has it's own advantages.

Man you need some reading to do! Of course a modhip will help. Once installed you can run slayer's or evox bootdisk and backup your eeprom and also you can ftp to your xbox.

Like I said once a modchip is installed you can run slayer's or evox bootdisk and backup your eeprom. Now is that easy enough for you? You just put the bootdisk in the dvd tray boot your xbox with chip on and now you can have ftp access to your xbox hdd. It's really that simple.

The chip will allow you to  run a tool to unlock your hdd not the chip itself. But yes it a bit easier to do hdd upgrades with a chip.
