Okay...
I just got a new motherboard with a small problem. As the title says ,
the only reliable way to turn the ebox on is the eject button. It can be turned off
by hitting the on/off button..
First, YES I have replaced the on/off switch with a different one.
second YES, I did change out the power supply
Third, both the button and the power supply work fine with other motherboards
The motherboard is a 1.4 or 1.5 (focus video chip)
with a stock bios.
Once it is turned on , the xbox plays just fine like normal.
Has any body seen this, or is this just a bad motherboard?

look for burned resistor on the mobo near the on/off connection.
-
are the wires all the way into the plug and is the plug in the mobo all the way

Check around R3G3 on v1 to v1.5 and R3G6 on V1.6

If it was a burned out resistor, the on/off switch wouldn't work at all right??
