Title: Xvid Wont Play

I installed the newest build i think, i got it off irc couldnt find the info about the date of it.  none of my xvids play in it just encoded deadwood the specs are 704x416 112k mp3 700mb i burnt it on 2 different media and tryed it of the hd, i used a old version of autogordian. just plays the sound no picture the old build i had off slayers installer worked.    any help me be great thanx <

I dont htink this build has the codecs it wont even play divx mpg just the sound no picture <

i went here for the codecs http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/MPlayer/releases/codecs/ but i dont know which to get anybody know? thanx

Go Here for your codecs. extract and go to system/players/mplayer/codecs. Put em in there. <

I'm glad someone else brought this up. I've been having problems now for two builds with certain xvids.
have't had time to read the log on debug mode.. but mode 4 was worthless...
I finally got some of them to play by deleting tdata mode. This created a whole other headache, because when you delete the tdata/0face008/ info.. it automatically will give you a crash on the next boot(it won't boot). This is becasue it rebuilds the files you delete but it rebuilds them with a setting of project mayhem as the startup skin(which is incompatible with the newest builds). Only do the above if you are prepared to ftp in without your xbox running. The crash starts the ftp mode automatically if you dare...

Either way, this only played certain additional ones. And then when it found one it didn't like it would revert to the old mode that wouldn't play them at all and crash my xbox.

repeat as desired..kinda bad bug if you ask me.. <

Thanx for the reply, i followed what you said, but it still does the samethings, no video and their is sound i tried xvid divx and mpg no dice. it must be the build i got off irc its probley a dud.  Unless its something else? <

I put back the xbmc that came with slayers installer, for now, thanx all <

I'm guessing this may be an out-of-memory error that affects only xvids ... Maybe the dll/codec needed is too large? When xbmc tries to open the stream it fails and aborts with "ERROR cmplayer::openfile()"

What xbmc version were you able to use to play xvids? I think I'll downgrade as well, this has been annoying me for some time now :)

I dont know which version it is, it was on the newest slayers evox installer. All i know that it plays my xvids and other types.  But i would like to update xbmc soon because its on the older side. <
