-short story-
I purchased a Falcon JTAG from him awhile back as a Christmas gift for my brother. Unfortunately, the system ended up having an E74 error after a few weeks of gaming. I contacted him about the issue and he really went out of his way to make sure my brother would have a working console again. Once he received it, he had it repaired through a contact of his, and then sent it back very promptly. Turn-around time was about 10 days including shipping times. This was a big deal to my brother and I as I'm visiting him and his family for Christmas and we're both on break from school, so getting it back so quickly really made a big difference.
I'm glad to say that everything is running flawlessly and I'd highly recommended this seller to fellow X-S members. Thanks again!

I bought a Jasper unit from him, which runs flawless. But this post is about another issue.
I had another Jtag (Falcon) that had died and he offered to look at it if I sent it to him. I did and he informed me it could be fixed and he repaired it.
Unfortunately some hard times hit after that and I didn't (don't) have the money to pay him for the repair so I explained the situation to him and he without any qualms offered to help me. He paid me $25 bucks for it and said if he is able to rebuilt and sell it he would throw some more my way. (Which I didn't ask for nor is it even expected)
What other sellers can you get this kind of service from? I highly recommend, he is a top notch seller and person as well. Genuinely cares for his customers.
Brings me to my second point..due to same hard times I have to resell the Jasper I just bought from him. Someone locally had purchased it but that fell through (they never showed) so I figured I would offer it to the community here.
It's a 256Mb Big block Jasper, Jtag'd and has Blue RF Module on it. I purchased it for $310 shipped (well worth it) and so I offer the same to someone else who may be in the market.
Thanks again to NYCXBOX..unfortunate that I have to sell it but times call for certain measures and changes. Thanks! Let me know if interested.

Very Honest and quick reseller pleasure doing business and hope anyone that needs one will get with him. I may end up recommending him to another one of my friends if he decides to purchase one as this was the quickest and easiest Jtag purchase i've ever had!! (4 total now - 1st one was from ebay but took a little bit for seller to get shipped, 2nd fell thru as the seller tested system and it RRoD as he was getting ready to ship - got money back, and 3rd was a little pos scammer from another site) so I feel great that I have a new Jtag on the way soon enough.

I cleaned everything off and put on some proper Arctic Silver 5 compound and the CPU is now idling around 56-57C. The console is now in a mid tower pc case, with x-clamps replaced and with a push pull setup on the CPU. I'm not sure how much the cooling mods played a role in this but the 23C+ difference is reassuring.
Things like this make me question the quality/workmanship.

You paid $115 for a reballed jtagged xenon. Not sure if that was with a dvd drive or not. NYCXBOX is a man of his word. You should pm him and discuss this with him. The fact that you opened the console void's any warranty I'm sure he would of offered you. But it doesn't hurt to ask him..

Because some-people don;t know how to use a PM button. let me get a few things out there for those who are wondering.
I have been here 6 years now. Been active for 6 years and been using the BST a long time.
Well respected and many references.
This thread alone has about 15+ people who have bought and left references.
Now - all my systems are reballed. We all know that the quality of a re-balled system when done right is top notch. Now I don't do my own reballs a I use a local reballer who does a great job. I get a board with heat-syncs from him only. All my xenons systems are then hand built when ordered. I have a stack of taggable xenon MOBOs and when someone wants to buy a system, I grab a board and put it in a metal case, and tag it. Once tagged I have a box of case parts (actually 7 boxs) remember xenon systems are 2005-2006 - these cases are not looking brand new by any means, but I don't use cracked cases or cases that are drilled. Now some of the grills that snap in the top or bottom might have bent or missing leg snaps As long as there are at least 4 to hold it in place it really shouldn't matter. I don't use cracked face-plates, but face-plates could be missing usb drive doors.
Falcon systems are only 2 years old tops - ascetically they are like new unless i mention they are not.
I guarantee against DOA and many here can vouch if you have an issue in the first few weeks, free replacement or Fix no problem.
I do not do 12V mods (your buying a Jtag - use software to ramp up your fans if you want your fans at 100%, no need to cut and solder wires on a Jtag)
Priority shipping on all system in USA and shipping is included in the price.
Why do you sell XENONS without DVD drives? Again I buy board only when it comes to xenon, so if you want a full system I have to buy new drives on the net (and I have a healthy supply) But I have to pass on the full price of the drive when selling a full system. SO I give the buyer a choice of no drive since I don't have drives for these MOBO's when I get them. Saves you money and saves me some too and allows me to offer you a Jtag at a very low price - especially when you probably have a system laying around with a good drive in it you can use.
Why do you NOT offer Falcons with NO drive? Because I don't buy board only on falcons. My falcons are bought complete and reballed.
References? YES - check this thread, and go back 20 or 30 pages and find my last thread that was 80+ replys long with many more buyers. I have sold a total of 44 Systems on here since spring of 2010.
Issues? Yes - issues happen - were talking about Xbox 360s here not Nintendo cart systems.. IF you have an issue it will get resolved, just PM me and I will get it taken care of. This thread alone had 2 buyers with systems that Stopped working, One was an easy fix and returned within 5 days, the other I just sent a new system, and problem solved, took the system that died back to my reball guy who fixed the issue, and it was resold at a later date.
A buyer suggested you take pics of your systems? With the exception of the Falcons (which are few and far between) all xenons are built to order - the mobo alone is not taken out the box until a system is ordered and paid for - I don't have the time to tag 5+ box and assemble them and photograph them. We all know how long I've been selling here - I think the description above give you a great idea of what your getting.

I have now bought 2 falcon systems from NYCXBOX and I have nothing but good things to say about his service. My first unit was bought 6-7 months ago and is still running like a champ. It's running around 8 hours a day (used as an media center) with no issues at all.

I had a hard dtime getting the ribbon cable to sit in the on/off cygnos switch properly. It's in there and works. if you take it apart - it's a pain to get back in there - it's almost like the cable is too thin to fit into the clip properly.

I have a very specific return policy posted. I also have been doing business here a LONG TIME and I guess you cannot make everyone happy.
ANY who has bought from me knows that if there is an issue even outside my guarantee period I try to make it right.
We all know Xbox's aren't the best machines in the world. They RROD all the time, yet we all still buy, sell and trade them.
The user above is an example of how not to treat a seller and how to over react.
I traded him a system back in February (February 18th to be exact). He received the system on Feb 21st Priority mail.
He PM me today (April 11th) to let me know the system RROD and prematurely posted this in the thread before giving me a chance to respond and to make it right.
Now I do not do my own reballs - I pay someone to do it for me. I am given a guarantee period from my reball guy. He will allow me to get Warranty repair on systems he sells me (knowing full well I am reselling them) As long as the board is not damaged by either me or the user that bought it.
The person above not only posted prematurely without letting me respond, but when I did respond, threw a KIDDIE FIT and decided to post my PERSONAL MESSAGE TO HIM. To try and make me look bad.
Now two things. My reball guy is only going to guarantee a system a certain time period, and I have my DOA / replacement repair guarantee posted as well and I try to keep it fair yet to the point where If a customers system dies, I can still take it back to my reball guy - who has to spend his time (at no pay) to re-fix the system and I have spend another $14.99 to ship a system back out of my pocket and when making 20-40 profit per system a RROD really puts a dent in my profit margin and basically I end up making $10 on a system if it needs to be repaired. So I hate having a customers system die at all prematurely.
If I can bring back a RROD system to my reball guy and have him warranty repair it I will, but all us sellers here on Xbox scene cannot cater to the whims of a buyer because of RROD after long guarantee periods expire or even after out own set DOA policy's expire. I have my policy posted, when you pay me to buy a system from me you are agreeing to those terms in the DOA policy. Just because it is a private transaction with the ability to SLANDER the seller if you don't get the desired result you are looking for if your system dies, don't make it right for us sellers to have to step outside out guarantee period to make you feel better or appeased, though as a community we do try to accommodate if we can, unlike a company like Microsoft that even 1 day outside your warranty will tell you TOO BAD, have a nice day.
So with this seller it has been exactly 49 days he has owned the system. In that 49 days I have no clue what he has done to it. He said it ran hot when He got it and I offered to look at it, he said he ramped the fans up and it ran nice and cool, now he is blaming the rrod he has on me and claiming my thermal paste was bad or I didn't secure the system right. Whatever - he word against mine, I offered back when he first got it to look at it, but he was fine with the ramped up fans. How Do I know he didn't try to change the thermal paste and cause another issue, slip with a screwdriver or something, obviously he took it apart, if he is making claims of poor quality thermal paste, which there shouldn't be. As far as I am concerned, if you take a system apart down to the bear board, guarantee or not, you just voided any guarantee you had with me. I have bitten my tongue about many of system here that have gone RROD, and always made the customer feel better and do my best to repair the console at little to NO COST for that customer. I can't tell you how many systems I have sold here on X-S or locally that a customer took it apart thinking that could fix it them-self and end up gouging the MOBO and cutting tracers on the board removing heat-syncs or scraping the SMC components off the board removing it from the case. I am going to tell all you buyers out there now, weather it be me or anyone else you buy from, if the box goes RROD and you have the ability for the seller to fix it, contact him and send it back, don;t tinker with it and possibly cause more issues with it or create new issues with that system, we all know it happens - even in my IT job how many people un-install or re-install things thinking they can fix the issue them-self just create new ones and then try to blame me for all of it and it just makes my job harder, leave the darn thing alone and let me have a look and if there is an issue is it only the one that came up on it's own not one YOU created.
I can bet you 2 or 3 other people in this thread alone out of the 30+ that have bought from me can tell you they had issues look about 13 post above and you will see there was a customer I had with a HOT BOX that RROD, I fixed it for free- asked that he just cover shipping since it was 30+ days outside my guarantee period and he now has a box that runs perfect at 50 degrees with no fans ramped up.
Now also remember I have a someone I work with to reball and repair my boards - I pay him for his service, he also trolls these boards and keeps track on my threads. HE actually pointed out the negative post above to me when I arrived at his home to pick stuff up and said to me - I guess you will be getting a board back to fix, that box is definitely out of warranty I have to recharge you to fix it. So I didn't even have the opportunity to get this box back from the user and try to negotiate with my reball guy to try and fix it at little or no cost me for the user above. Like I said I get a certain time period from my guy and I try to keep it honest with him. If I get 5 box's reballed and those 5 boxs' sit on a shelf for 2 months un-played before I sell them and when i do sell them they RROD in a week or two - he will still honor his guarantee to fix them knowing that those fixed boxs' just sat after his repair on them and even though months went by before first usage/play on them - they were only played for a small amount of time so he is KIND ENOUGH to extend me his guarantee. Some reballers will give you 21-30-40 days and if you get a box fixed and it sits on the shelf for the entire warranty period before you sell it and it dies, they tell you too bad you should have used it in that time period and found the error or sold it faster. My guy is not like that. Him and I keep records of what systems he does for me and when I sell them so I can guarantee them to my customers, but at the same time once they are being used he starts his countdown timer too. It is something he does not have to do for me but he does. So I can negotiate a fix with him if it is right around the time period. Sometimes I am told - sorry this box is just too far out side my repair guarantee - you will have to pay me again, and that's fine.
In this situation there was nothing I could do. I am not going to reach into my own pocket on a system I made $30 on and pay $60 for it to be fixed 49 days after a customer started using it without even seeing the system first. How Do I know he didn't cause the RROD on it. I offered him a 50 / 50 split on the repair and FREE SHIPPING. that would make me break even on this box and yes it would cost him $30 - but that is better than me telling him sorry your outside my guarantee period too bad.
Everyone here who has bought from me knows I am not like that. I have done tons of business with some MODS and ADMINS here, I have sold a lot of systems and accessories to users here. Checking just this thread alone, it has to be over 30 buyers here who have bought from me. I have had a FEW RROD along the way, it would probably end up being a better chance of winning the lottery two times in a row before not having a single transaction without a single RROD. They happen. I do honor my DOA policy's. I do fix or replace or repair systems for users here, I have even had systems where the user took it apart before sending it back and damaged the board making the repair even harder or near impossible and instead of pointing a finger and saying - hey - I just get it fixed. I don't think I ever told a single person here Your out of luck. I have always come to some sort of compromise and made it right or done the best I could. I am not here for your charity I am here to make some side money while providing good customer service and doing the right thing by the community here.
So I think my PM MESSAGE to the user above should be taken down. I don't think it is right that he spam my PM box, that hurts other users from contacting me - including others who need updates on Fixes, Shipment data or my current stock. I don't think my PERSONAL PRIVATE COMMENTS MADE VIA PM should be posted here for all of you to read because he is unhappy with the resolution I gave him.
This seems like the kind of user who is now going to flame and make post after post to be annoying and arrogant - I ask the mods to please keep track of this kind of behavior and take care of it should it occur.
The user has every right to voice a complaint or his dis-satisfaction for the trade we did and post his opinion. I don't think he has the right to slander and make accusations and flame to the point of abuse of my BST.
I encourage anyone who has bought from me issue free or had an issue that was resolved to post your thoughts and feedback please. Perhaps one of you can type some sense to this user. Perhaps not.
Either way - I have taken over an hour of my time to write this and it probably has typos and errors but the general message comes across..
I hope I will continue to have you all consider me someone to deal with here on X-S BST - after 6 years here and countless references and referrals and positive feedback - I hope one rotten apple will not spoil the good time and plentiful Jtag system I get for you all to enjoy and play.

I know people can get angry and say nasty things when mad especially about a expensive piece of equipment breaking. My 50/50 offer still stands. Throw $30 in the grills of the 360 - put it in a flat rate box and sent it my way. I will get it properly repaired with another Full DOA guarantee from the moment you receive it . This User is abusing and Flaming. He voiced his complaint. He is posting personal messages and trying to flame with them. Admins please do me a favor and Remove my personal comments to him.
I offered him a reasonable solution.
I offered him and the community a response to his outlandish allegations and complaints.
Two facts here.
DID we do a trade? YES
Is he claiming 50 days later the system is RROD? YES?
Every thing else is irrelevant. Weather it is a RROD due to equipment failure or Due to his tinkering inside the system - we will never know.
I ask that if this user continues to post and Flame and turn my BST into his personal Flame station that his comments (minus the original complaint and Follow up) be removed. He has a right to voice his opinion. But beyond that he is turning this BST into his personal Vendetta and the Rules of this BST are supposed to protect against this.

Like I pointed out in the post above - You send 7 messages minutes apart filling up my in box and disrupting other users from contacting me - Hence see the Two users above who had to post here to tell me my inbox was full due to this User. My last Sentence was to reiterate to this user - THINK, WRITE, get it all out in one shot and send a message I don't need to read 7 chapters to get seven sentences. That is a bit redonkulas...
Though at the same time I did my best to explain my policy's, what was agreed upon and How I can help him resolve this issue and also point out that by prematurely PUBLICLY posting all his issues without privately consult me first and waiting for a response he hurt his chances of a next to nothing repair because of the other people I work with getting information as well about the system. We all do what we have to to help our buyers out. But if I am contracted to sell you a car and take it to my mechanic to have it tuned up before I sell it and it dies, You bring it back to me because I sold it to you. I do my best to work with my mechanic and get it fixed for the least amount of money to my buyer and to me as well if I have an understanding on a guarantee of functionality on that car that MY mechanic worked on. Now if the buyer informs my mechanic before informing me - and give the mechanic TMI (too much information) then of course my mechanic is going to deny me services for little or nothing and try to get paid again for more work especially when that guarantee of functionality is past due.
Anyways I am done with this. One bad transaction I was not able to rectify - and Still i sit here and have my offer out to this USER - please send me back the system - let me get it working for you - but you will have to pay for 1/2 the repair.

After a week the system went RRoD. It was a problem with the reballing, outside of Kirk's hands, and we told him about it. Without even questioning me or anything he took it back to fix, and if the post office was semi competent I would probably not be typing this now and would instead be burried in Mass Effect 2, but that is another story all together.
I am about as far from patient as a person gets, one of my many flaws, and despite what I am sure is my constant pestering of Kirk these last few days with the post office thing, he is very patient and has never been short or angry towards me.
I would recommend him to anyone, and will in the future should any of my friends ask about how to get a xbox like mine. He is a great seller.

If you check back about 2 or 3 weeks ago I had a clear case Xbox 360 xenon reballed with a ton of lights and such. This user ed27587 told me please hold it (I don't hold anything - if another buyer has cash in hand then thats the buyer who gets it) I have learned over the years, if you think you got a sale and you HOLD IT and then turn down others for that same sale, only because your holding it for that first person who says I will pay you in a few days,weeks, hours, ect... you get the idea - usually that person ends up backing out last minute and all those people you turned down were in vein and your stuck from the beginning and you end up taking a loss when you had a guaranteed sale with one of those people you turned down because you were HOLDING IT. Now there are people here I have done business with I would give a 24-48 hour hold for as I know, if they say they are 100% sure, they WILL BUY it when they say they will, but for new users like ed27587 I said sorry.
Well after a few weeks of messages, and talking to him on the phone - because he was worried about getting scammed and such, he promised me he was goin g to pay via pay-pal in 2 days for it. Well I had no other offers I figured 2 day no big deal and held it - Then 2 days later got the "I am having issues with my paypal account ect.. ect.." He dissapeared for a week and came back - "You still holding the Xenon in clear case for me?" - Nope I SOLD IT I told him. he was like "hey I told you I was going to pay ect..ect.. ect..." borhing. Then he disappears for a week again, COmes back with - hey WOuld you be interested in trading a non taggable system with 250GB harddrive controller, av and power for a Jtag ? It was a fair deal to me I can sell that bundle to someone locally for the same price as a SYSTEM only Falcon Jtag. SO I said Sure I will trade - you send first. Well I got the - I'm sending - I'm sending fora bout a week. Finally I just had enough - told this user off and told him - stop jerking me around - put up or shut up. 3 days later he put up and mailed me the system. I received (already had a buyer lined up for it actually) - tested it - shipped out his system. Now he has had it for a few days now and all i get is TEXT's and Phone call after phone call (while at work or at 11pm at night) asking me questions how to use it and such.. Really? I mean I got no issues giving some advice, but I am not going to hold your hand for every little thing - do some reading.....
So tonight was the final straw and the reason I am typing this. Calls me at 10:30 two times in a row. I am at work, Could not answer - so I texted him. I get back "please help me get on XBOX LIVE" I was shocked... I guess this is a total NOOB - don't realize there is no Xbox live for Jtags and even if there was it only used to last 4 hours on a KV and then you need to buy another for $50-100, reflash and go on again for 4 hours (now this stopped back with 12611 in November - there has been NO live for 99% of the jtag users since November - though I hear there are some out there still running lobbies somehow - Anyways...). So now I text him back - sorry there is no Xbox live for Jtag systems.. This kid then ask - well I want to trade back.. UGH>.. NOPE.. I already had a buyer lined up and system is gone... So I guess after all these years of doing sales and trading online - I learned a new lesson - make sure the person you are dealing with isn't completely clueless. I mean seriously.. am I wrong here?

OMG. No, you're not wrong at all. I went through a similar situation before. Against my better judgment, I held a console for a potential buyer, who swore repeatedly that he WILL buy it in a week. He also doesn't like how "complicated" it is to update the dash from 12611 to 12625. I explained that you can't just update a jtag the way you would a normal console, and how you have to flash a new image. Again, I offered to assist him through the process, and also advised that there's no reason to update to 12625... just use the new DL! When it came time to ship it, I gave him the tracking number immediately. USPS didn't update the shipping status for a day, and he sent me a msg saying "f*** you! I don't want it anymore!". Ya know, because I can control how often they refresh the data lol. I told him that it shows "accepted" at my p.o. location on the EXACT date/time that I said I would drop it off... that wasn't acceptable to him. It's been one thing after another, so yeah I feel for ya!

I have not been around for a while, been super busy with other projects and since the guy who was doing re-balling for everyone including me is not doing it anymore - I have not had any Xenon Re-balls for sale in months. If I come across a good HDMI system that is tag-gable and I can get it for a good price, tag it and make a decent amount of money on it $30+ then I will post more systems for sale.

I first contacted you about this July 8th, less than 90 days after receipt. In those 90 days I didn't even use it that much. As I said definitely less than 100 hours, probably under 80. I guess its outside of your guarantee but still expected it to run like a tank as advertised. Just a word of warning to everyone else about buying repaired former rrod systems - you are definitely rolling the dice with these purchases.
Aside from that does anyone know what the likelihood of a code 0021 being able to be repaired is? It doesn't look like the optimal code to have repaired.

The Guy I was using to reball units here was Skinyron (as well as a ton of other people here) He announced on June 2nd (50 days after receiving your unit) that he was no longer accepting units to reball. Any unit that was under his warranty would be taken care of but no additional units would be taken in for repair and no units outside his guarantee period would be taken back for additional repairs or refunds.
I only offered as per post #74 a 14 day guarantee (and even if I offered you 30 days) your original contact claim date and the most recent post here are both well past what what I usually guarantee. I do apologize if it didn't last as long as you had hoped for, and usually I go out of my way to help people get units bought from me fixed outside my guarantee date range, but with my re-baller not doing me any more favors and no longer staying in the game - there was nothing more I could do for anyone outside the 14 day period. To quote my reballer and a guy that MANY here were using and very happy with his work "I have enjoyed my time with repairing these units but in my honest opinion these units are destined to fail. I will still be happy to share my knowledge but am not interested in repairing these units for customers."
There really isn't anything I can do for you. I can suggest just finding a repair shop or reballer locally. There is a guy I have been recommending that does RROD repairs (www.modjunkiez.com) I sent in my personal unit to him for RROD repair since Skinny was no longer doing repairs and it was quick and decently priced. It still works but it has only been a month I had it back.

Anyway nycxbox its your business, but I wouldn't want too many of your customers on here unhappy.

He's definitely logged in almost daily, but kept his box full and didn't reply to emails.

David, I am not going to argue here - I gave a 14 or 30 day DOA policy on my systems sold.
Your system was accepted by you on April 11th - your contact of July 8th or August 8th is not valid - it is WAY past the date due on my DOA policy. My reball guy is gone as of June 3rd and that was way past the DOA policy. There is nothing more I can do for you. If I had a guy who could do work for me still I would try to get you a fix, there is nothing I can do for you. If your Corruption message to me is legit - get me a CPU key and I will look up and mail you a fresh nand for your system to flash that is the best i can do.
As for the user missing a system. This is the 3rd thing you sent my way. It was completed and mailed back. Check your tracking. I am not going to steal your Motherboard or money after doing business multiple times. Please check your tracking.
As for the accusations of purposely not being around all I can say is this.
I had a lot of family things and summer projects I have been engaged in - I have not been on since Early July myself (my last post was July 2nd and perhaps I was on a few more days after that but by july 7th/8th or so I was off for a long while). Perhaps my account has been logged in every day as this forum is one of the home page tabs that opens on my browser every time a window opens (which would record me as logged in), But I personally have not been on X-S for over a month, any user in my household just browsing the internet that opens a firefox window will log me a on the forum in the home window, my other household users know to just close the window and not mess with my X-S stuff. I knew of my full box for quite sometime but with no time to get on, respond or have anything for sale anyways I figured why bother, you could have always emailed me - many people email me all the time and users were getting mail in work via the email link. I have been doing my best to get everyone projects done and returned, even with the lack of time I have. The last 3 users I have done work for all show tracking with ITEM RETURNED, including the user on post back.
