Could someone please help. I am trying to add support to the keymap.xml file, but i'm apparently not using the right words to accomplish this. I've been trying to figure this out since 4-4.
04-04-2005 changed: Improved the analog stick + trigger response + allowed analog ffwd and analog rewd to be mapped globally (eg Right thumb stick left and right works nicely.) I would have thought the keymap.xml would have been modified already at the same time to already include this new function. It's a really great feature addition for us.
I am trying to map the right analog stick left/right to ffwd and rewd globally, but get an error in bootup on a certain line saying it's not correct. So i am assuming i'm not adding it right.
I went to global section , and added this.
(Global section)
Fast Rewind section
<gamepad>rightthumbstickleft</gamepad>
FFWD section
<gamepad>rightthumbstickright</gamepad>
I might not be using the right commands (i couldn't find new added ones to use), so i was assuming above would be correct because of rightthumbstickup/down being correct for volume. Thanx for any help.

See the Fullscreen video section for the action ids. You need to move that into the <global> section and redo the <gamepad> tags.
Your <gamepad> tags are correct.

Ok, that's what i thought. I don't know what i did before, but that's exactly how i did it before, but i got an xbmc error msg in bootup. I added that string before. I added it after the id this time though, i think before i added it after the remote string, since i noticed it seemed like it might have been some kind of priority wiht the ordering, so that might have been it, since other then that i added the same string, but it's working now. Weird if something just plain glitched before.
Thanx for that. I knew that was right the way i did it. Cool. I actually attached it to track up/down, since the ffw and frwd doesn't work that great.
Tried (for the hell of it.) mapping to the leftanalogstick left/right, but i guess it's not added yet, as it didn't work. Wierd that the left stick (other then push/snapshots) isn't used. That's kind of a waste. We could map those to global setup. IE- stick left/right ffw/frwd stick up/down track up/down. That would be cool. Maybe eventually. That would be, hmmm.. maybe a feature new request??? Yeah.
Thanx again jmarshall for confirming things. It was the way i was thinking after all, just maybe added it out of order. Or just a glitch somhow. It's working now.
