Title: Help With Movie Playback And Imdb Scan
Post by: kj5200 on March 21, 2005, 11:37:00 AM
I have two questions.  I have copied two of my movies to xbox with dvd2xbox to test the system.  I copied "Spongebob" and "Taxi".  Both relatively new movies.  When I copied them it said all files copied with 0 problems.  When I try to play them in xbmc it is distorted for a few seconds and then goes to the previous screen.  The only movies I have gotten to work is "Mr. 3000".  Is it because they are new movies or is there a patch or a fix I can do?

Second question is with these movies I mentioned.  When I have their folder open and click on the imdb scan button it scans for a minute and does nothing.  Is there something else I need to do for this to work correctly to have the icon?

Thank You.

k, try searching for the .ifo file....i think its video_ts.ifo, not sure though, but for most movies if you play this file it will play all of the .vobs (movie file chunks), its kinda like the .cue for .bin files.  Secondly, to get IMDB to work something in the directory will have to have the name of the movie, ie if you ripped it using dvd2xbox then it wil create 2 folders video_ts and audio_ts not "taxi" ect. so name the folder to taxi or spongebob and click the IMDB when you see the names of the folders.  Another option is to go to IMDB.com and find the album art yourself, get it and then name it "folder.jpg" and put it into the movie folder....
