Title: Xbox Tray Drawer Issues (again)
Post by: wrekx on October 18, 2013, 05:06:00 PM
I had similar issues.
Eject only way to power on console and turn off at the wall only way to turn off.
Random eject and power on/off also.
The problem was corroded traces at the very front of the mainboard.
It required pulling out everything including mainboard, using multimeter continuity test and magnifying glass to find examine and confirm the corroded traces (looked like minute rust in and around traces that break the connections). You then need to find alternate points to solder in trace replacement wires to bypass the trace breaks due to corrosion.  This takes magnifying glass following traces, finding points to solder in wires and using multimeter to confirm.  Google trace repair for more info.

If you are not very good at fine soldering try to identify a few points in the circuit to solder trace wires to so that if you can't get solder and wire to take well, have a plan b and c for each broken trace.   Helped me anyway.
