I have a WD 250gb which I'm trying to upgrade my softmodded Xbox (via Xbox softmod kit)
I'm in the process of using xhdm to rebuild an Xbox hd from scratch.
I have started it around 10:00pm EST. I'm starting to get concerned it is just a tad past 5:30am EST
and it is not completed yet. The cd that I made with the C & E folders from
the Xbox is 379-380mb. Any Ideas on how long does this process take?

Well Thanks any way. Im going to try a different computer using a different optical drive and see how that work.s

Sorry to Double post. But I have great news. I got my drive ready and locked. All need to do next is put it in the xbox.
That's good to hear. Did you have to wait out the entire several hours and everything was complete?

No I just tried a different computer entirely. I had a old P4 rig that was mine at one time and it worked with no issues. I just let it do its thing after I got back it was ready to do the E drive and then sometime after that it was back at the main menu. I had a tad bit of trouble with locking the drive. It said my drive was frozen and the security could not be altered due to the BIOS. But I fixed that by disconnecting the power to the drive and restarting xHDM and connect it back up before booting the locking unlocking tools program.

Good luck. It should be easy for you than using the USB method. Also make sure that you have a relic computer that has "IDE/PATA" Optical drives or the programs will not work. If you get the error message "Drive is Frozen" when trying to lock the drive. That is caused by the computer's BIOS (if it is a newer relic computer ex from like the P4 era") Then just shut down your computer and disconnect the power to the hard drive you are using for the xbox and restart xHDM then before choosing option 3 to load the lock/unlock tools connect the drive's power back up then choose option 3 and then it should let you lock the drive.
