Title: Zeroed Out Eeprom, Xbox No Longer Boots.
Post by: xman954 on April 27, 2011, 01:48:00 AM
use xplorer360 on a win XP PC to look at the HDD configmagic makes a backup of the EEPROM every time

the EEPROM is edited

if it's softmoded and you did not disable the virtual EEPROM then then key did not change

and the key in the file is the one the HDD need to be locked with

XboxHDM can relock it

That means you've locked the disk with an eeprom that's different from the one on the Xbox motherboard. Open the eeprom with LiveInfo and check the eeprom hdd key, and see if it is all zeros, or the original value.

I got it fixed. The EEPROM backup didn't have all zeroes, but I used liveinfo to save a new eeprom WITH all zeroes and then relocked the hdd using that eeprom and xboxhdm. Xbox is alive again. Thanks for the help guys.
